I can hardly believe it has been 13 years since I decided to start embark on this adventure!! I have met soooo many amazing people over the years. As I looked back over some of my photos from the past…it’s honestly CRAZY to think that some of those wee babies are now teenagers too!! Thanks guys!! You make this a really fun job.

Let me know if you see yourself!! And as always – if you are looking to capture your family, child or special event – let me know! info@k-photo.ca

I’m getting a bit behind on posting lately. This is from my annual fall mini sessions back in October. If you can remember – there was torrential rainstorms we were scheduling in-between. Just an added obstacle to an already challenging year. Anyways…so happy this family was able to come out again. I have seen these guys every year since this little guy was born. I think there is a bit of a language barrier – because I know he is very French. And I try my best…but it’s not that great. Haha! Half the time he looks at me like I’m crazy. (Which may or may not be true.) But I’m glad it all worked out in the end. How cute is this family?!?!

There is still plenty of nice white snow out there if you are thinking of a wintery scene for your next family photo session. And otherwise – spring/summer is on the way. I have placed a pause on indoor photography (which includes newborns) and am focusing on outdoor sessions. Please contact me if you would like to talk about YOUR next session. info@k-photo.ca

This family ALWAYS brings me fun things to play with at their portrait sessions. A puppy had joined the family quite recently – and NEEDED to be at this photo shoot. I could not agree more!! Any excuse to get down in the dirt is a good session in my books. We decided she she was so well behaved that this ball of fluff should have her own little portrait session that we squeezed in right at the end. I don’t think she understands the concept of social distancing…haha! My camera was FULL of doggie drool. As you probably know…I am more of a cat person. But this little pooch could sway me in the the other direction. She was just so sweet!! ๐Ÿ˜›

On these cold days it sure is nice to look back on some warmer times. I am put indoor portrait sessions on a little pause for the time being – but always up for venturing outdoors. The snow can be such a nice backdrop for family photos. Even the furry kind!! Stay safe everyone – and send a message if interested in booking a portrait session: info@k-photo.ca

I had high hopes for 2021…but it proved to be not as expected. Many plans cancelled and rescheduled. That seemed to be the theme of the year. However, one GREAT thing about 2021 was that we were lucky to move into our first home of our very own! Which was an adventure in itself. But also – I have grown fond of being forced to hang out with our little family more. And we haven’t killed each other yet. So that is a a big plus! In the photography world – not A LOT happened this year. I was happy to be able to offer my annual mini sessions in the Fall. But other than that – pretty quiet for K Photo and Design.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me!! At this time I’m putting a little pause on things while this lovely pandemic has gone a little crazy. But hoping to get my camera back out this Spring – so feel free to drop me a line!! Any previous clients can always order more digital images, prints or products (for contactless pick up). Stay safe out there!! And wishing you all the best for 2022!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, it wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t just a little late. Christmas tends to sneak up on me. Even when I THOUGHT was was going to be ready on time…there’s always last minute things that pop up. This was the first Christmas in our new house. We of course wanted to make sure it was JUST RIGHT. It began with decorating the outside. We could do WHATEVER WE WANTED. The trouble is – deciding. We fell in love with these little Canadian Geese at the store and knew they had to be on our front lawn. Picked up some candy canes to line the front. This is where the discussion began: IS there a correct way to place a candy cane? The answer is YES! Haha! (At least for my OCD side).

We have a lot of cardinals in our area – so it was most appropriate that would be our new Christmas ornament. The kitties in their favourite spots: one in a broken basket, the other under the tree. Oh! And my family sent the most BEAUTIFUL floral arrangement for our table.
Anyone who knows me, knows my obsession with Bath and Body Works. Well Christmas scents are definitely a part of MY holiday!
I’m getting pretty desperate for some LIVE MUSIC. We had a lot of fun watching the “virtual” CP Holiday Train concert this year.
The baking was the ONE THING I had done on time this year. It is not unusual for me to be making the Christmas cookies on the 26th. Haha! Someone else was super excited about the cookies too!
Took a trip out to Upper Canada Village just before Christmas to see all the lights and of course, ride the little train. It was quite cold – but OH so beautiful!! Even got to see Santa! Safely. From a distance.
Every year we come up with a fancy cocktail. This year we decided, since we were not making the turkey Christmas day (ALWAYS fun to drink and cook…hahah!) – we would have our drink for Christmas eve. This is a Clausmopolitan. And it was DE-LISH!
This is my FAVOURITE Christmas song. Coming home by the Trews. Can’t wait until we are seeing live music again. These guys are definitely at the top of my list!!
Christmas would not be complete without a GREAT Christmas mug. I think this family has succeeded. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday!! Can’t wait to do it again next year!! Merry Christmas!!

I have not seen this bunch since 2014 (I checked my records!) The kids have grown SO MUCH!! So much so – from afar I thought mom was one of the kids. A little shy to warm up – but in reality, have not changed at all. It was great to see these guys after all this time. (These kiddies were also the first set of twins I had photographed as newborns). The rain stayed away long enough to capture these adorable photos – even though I’m pretty sure they were sloshing around in their shoes by the end.

These are true siblings. I asked them to put their arms around each other. I don’t know if they are terrible fond of “touching”. Haha!

I feel terribly lucky to have met up with all the families this fall for my annual mini sessions. I am currently only accepting outdoor portrait sessions. If you would like to book something – please contact me: info@k-photo.ca

Stay safe out there!!!

So happy to see this gang again! It had been a few years now…with schedules, covid, etc. The rain was threatening to start up at any point; so we had to make this count. And that they did! This crew is always so funny with their terrible dad jokes and stories. I always have a good time. (I think the photos speak for themselves.)

Currently booking outdoor family/children photos only. Please contact me at info@k-photo.ca for more information.

I have been photographing ONE of these families for years. So I was very happy to get the call to photograph the rest of the bunch. And let me tell you – 5 kids ranging in age from 1 to 11 can be quite busy. I am glad I wore my heavy duty deodorant! Haha! We could not have asked for a nicer day though. It was perfect for getting outside – and the colours were already there to help with a beautiful backdrop to capture these family memories.

Feels good to see people again! Still working our way through year 2 of this pandemic. I won’t be doing any indoor photos over the winter. However, if you are interested in outdoor family portraits when there is a nice covering of white snow – I am your photographer!! Stay safe everyone!

Back in 2012, my friends asked me to design their new business logo. They had purchased the flower shop that Trish had been working at since – well….way back in high school! But it was time for a change, and they got rid of the franchise name and ventured out as an independent flower shop in Brandon, Manitoba. 2021 was the year of change. The Bloom Box packed up and moved to a brand new location. Which lead to the need to revamp the old logo. After many tries – the owners agreed they really liked the original logo. It just needed a little tweak. And this is what we came up with.

I cannot take credit for these lovely photos. They were sent to me by The Bloom Box. If you are looking for the most awesome of floral displays in all of Brandon, Manitoba – look no further! bloomboxonline.com In fact, this beautiful bouquet above was sent to one of my family members earlier this summer.

Stay safe everyone!!

This past year has definitely been interesting. Between restrictions on gatherings and when photographers are allowed to work – I was sure happy to push through with my annual Fall mini sessions. One of the big reasons is my VIP’s that I see every year. It just would not be the same without them! These guys always bring me a good laugh. I love the random competition between the kids. Who got a new coat and who has new boots for the shoot. Haha! They are definitely not shy to tell me their life stories. We had the perfect setting for all of these stories – this beautiful Nepean walking trail. And the weather could not have been better either.

I am looking forward to some nice warm weather to get out more with my camera. If you are looking to capture some family memories (while following Covid rules) please send a message my way! info@k-photo.ca

Stay safe everyone!!
