Always happy to get the call that there is another baby on the way.  I hadn’t seen this family since their baby boy, well….was a baby!  He is definitely full of beans now at 2 years old.  (Hard to believe he was THIS baby!)  He kept himself busy by baking “cookies” with his pot and spatula as Mom and I tried to settle his lil’ sis.  I think she had pretty much decided before I arrived that all she wanted to eat and cuddle all day long. Luckily, in between feedings we managed to snap a few cute photos.  My favourite part has always been capturing and creating the Fingers+Toes collage.  Every single one is unique.  And for this one, I particularly fell in love with the little photo of the back of her neck with this little wispy hairs.  Sooooooo cute!!

Oh…and before I forget, the blanket shown below was made by her 90+ year old Great Grandmother and saved for her before she passed.  Definitely a special heirloom, as she could hardly see as she was finishing it up.  I was told she didn’t even know that there was a baby girl on the way!  She must have had a sixth sense.  It was soooo pretty and dainty.

The weather is getting warmer and I’m beginning to see a lot more green arriving every day.  This is the perfect time to start thinking about outdoor family photos!  Now booking for Spring/Summer of 2017.  And of course, ALWAYS taking newborn bookings.  Drop me a line, we can chat! info@k-photo.ca

Introducing a NEW location you can view K Photo and Design’s artwork.  Baby Snuggles 3D/4D Ultrasound facility gives you the opportunity to see your baby before he/she arrives!  They offer various different packages allowing you to hear your baby’s heartbeat, gender determination, you can even bring home your ultrasound pictures!  I love matching up the ultrasound photos with a baby’s newborn images to see the resemblance.  They also make a pretty nice prop to use for maternity photos.  Just saying. Winking smile

So if you’re thinking of finding out if you are carrying a boy or girl, give Baby Snuggles a call – tell ‘em I sent you!  Smile

Expectant mommies are best photographed at around the 34th-38th week, before you start to feel “too-pregnant”.  You will have a nice round bump by this time depending on if you are on your first, second or even third baby.  And don’t forget to book your newborn session!!  New babies are best photographed within the first week.  They are so teeny and fresh at that point – you don’t want to miss it!  That is why is it best to reserve your spot while you are still pregnant.  Please contact me for more info: info@k-photo.ca  I can’t wait to hear from you!! I think it’s still cold enough to make a Christmas post today.  And then I will be pretty much caught up too.  Yay!!  So this is the second little one I have photographed for this family.  They definitely have the recipe right for handsome boys.  (I can’t believe this was 3 years ago!) Big brother was definitely comfortable with helping me set up my gear.  And then I was treated to a Thomas video.  It was actually a commercial for some track that had a crash in it.  Every time the train crashed he would laugh.  Haha!  He was definitely a busy little boy – and difficult to get him IN the photos.  But we managed just fine.  His new baby brother did not have a care in the world though.  He was so easy going…and obviously LOVED having his photo taken.  So much so…I had a terrible time narrowing down my faves.  So this is what we got!

Every time I photograph a new baby, I am reminded of how teeny their little features are.  It is so important to capture those moments – as they grow up so darn fast!!  If you are thinking of having newborn photos taken, don’t wait!  It is best to reserve your spot while you are still pregnant.  Send me a message info@k-photo.ca  – I’d love to chat with you!

Hard to believe that 2017 is right around the corner.  So I just wanted to look at some of the amazing people I have met, and also reunited with over this past year.  I was lucky enough to be invited to capture a baptism and also a 90th birthday party.  My fall mini sessions are always a fave.  I love catching up with families I haven’t seen in a while.  And the kids ALWAYS have amazing stories for me.  Haha!  Smile  So here are a few of my most loved photos from 2016…if you see yourself – let me know! There’s nothing better than hanging out with a new baby.  This little guy was no exception.  Although, he was NOT all that interested in sleeping.  He was WAY too interested in what was happening around him.  And who could could blame him? I think all images with his eyes closed were caught during a blink.  Haha!  That is my secret.   Smile

All 10 days of him.  Nothing beats that new baby smell.  Nothing!  This little guy did NOT disappoint.  He was so sweet and squishy; I could have snuggled him all day long.  This little guy was not all that interested in napping though.  I guess there was just too many things going on.  He did NOT want to miss a thing!  But those big bright eyes….seriously!! I can’t believe I am seeing the word January on my calendar.  AND it’s 2016!!  How is that even possible?

I met so many great new families this year…and was able to keep in touch with my fave old ones.  As the kids get bigger, they just get goofier.  (Is that a word?)  All in all, a lot of fun.  I even managed to photograph TWO weddings in 2015.  Which is odd, since I don’t do weddings.  Haha!  I also had two families welcome baby number THREE to the bunch.  Feels pretty darn special to be a part of these growing families.  There’s nothing like that new baby smell.  Or the stories from the older siblings.  I have heard some pretty grand ones this year.  Haha!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2016!!  Filled with fun…and hopefully photos!  Camera  Can’t wait to hear from you!  Smile

Apparently girls are the way to go for this family.  I guess you can’t have too much of a good thing!  Poor dad, when those teenage years roll around though. Haha!  I have absolutely enjoyed spending time with this family since big sis was just a week old.  And managed to squeeze in a little visit a few months after baby #2 arrived.  Those girls are so cute and funny.  Making my job pretty darn easy.  I mean…who can resist all those blonde curls??  Wonder if lil’ sis will be the same?  Only time will tell. I am so lucky to see some families again and again. Even more exciting when baby number 3 is involved! So much fun hanging out with this crew. They always keep me on my toes!!  Crazy to think I’ve photographed this family since big sis was 10 days old.  And even how much big bro had changed too.  I definitely had a hard time picking favourites of this session.  But this is what I have to share with you today. Aren’t they adorable?? Smile
