We wanted to include this couple’s first baby in their newborn session.  And with how unpredictable animals can be, we thought it be best we do that first.  But what a little pro this doggie was!! She didn’t want to get too close to her baby sister, but was happy to sit beside her – with some space.  And once that was out of the way, this new baby girl just settled in for a nice little nap.

I always check in with parents in regards to specific colours that should be used for wraps or backdrops.  Some have a theme they are going with, or a colour they absolutely HATE.  But when asked if pink was okay – I got the go ahead.  As mom’s wedding dress was even pink!  No complaints from this wee babe – she must have agreed with pink.  Honestly – just look at that sweet little face!!!  Absolutely adorable!!

If you were thinking you missed out on some outdoor winter family photos – guess again.  I think we have another week – or 2 (maybe) that we could set something up, if mother nature cooperates.  And of course, we schedule newborn session all year round.  Newbies are best photographed when they are brand new.  Generally within the first two weeks.  Most book their sessions while they are still pregnant.  Please contact me for more info: info@k-photo.ca

2017 brought me many old, and some new friends.  Love me some new baby smell!! And also my Fall mini sessions were a big hit!  Beautiful weather!!  As a bonus,  I just love catching up with these people every year.  The kids grow so quickly!!  And of course, if I can convince my own children to get in front of my camera – I’m winning!    OH!  And let’s not forget – in 2017 I managed to launch my new website!  If anyone knows my technical abilities…this was a HUGE accomplishment!  Haha!  Anyways, it looks like it’s about time to welcome 2018!!  Here are a few of my fave photos from this past year.  If you see yourself – let me know!!

So many cuties in one post!!!  Of course, please feel free to follow me on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with what’s going on at K Photo and Design.  And if you feel so inclined, you can also check out my new website: www.k-photo.ca

“We have added another munchkin to our brood and would love to have you capture the fleeting newborn stage and update our family photo.”  I couldn’t believe I was hearing this update from one of my favourite families!!  It’s amazing to compare this new little guy to his big brother and sister.  As baby was getting ready for his debut photo shoot his brother and sister kept me busy with stories of their Dad’s hockey career.  What was even funnier was the look Dad gave me….like the majority of that story may not be true.  Haha!  But they did keep me entertained while baby was snacking.  Even suggested I should photograph them wrestling; which I promptly did.  Haha!  What bundles of energy!!  And baby…well he just liked to be held – and eat – and then be held some more.  I think he has Mom and Dad wrapped around his little finger already.  As they should be.

Newborns tend to photograph best when they are brand new, therefore it is best to reserve your spot while you are still pregnant.  Now booking newborn, kids and family portraits sessions.  And please stay tuned to hear about our annual mini session dates coming up this Fall.  Any questions?  Give me a shout!  info@k-photo.ca  Talk soon!!

Always happy to get the call that there is another baby on the way.  I hadn’t seen this family since their baby boy, well….was a baby!  He is definitely full of beans now at 2 years old.  (Hard to believe he was THIS baby!)  He kept himself busy by baking “cookies” with his pot and spatula as Mom and I tried to settle his lil’ sis.  I think she had pretty much decided before I arrived that all she wanted to eat and cuddle all day long. Luckily, in between feedings we managed to snap a few cute photos.  My favourite part has always been capturing and creating the Fingers+Toes collage.  Every single one is unique.  And for this one, I particularly fell in love with the little photo of the back of her neck with this little wispy hairs.  Sooooooo cute!!

Oh…and before I forget, the blanket shown below was made by her 90+ year old Great Grandmother and saved for her before she passed.  Definitely a special heirloom, as she could hardly see as she was finishing it up.  I was told she didn’t even know that there was a baby girl on the way!  She must have had a sixth sense.  It was soooo pretty and dainty.

The weather is getting warmer and I’m beginning to see a lot more green arriving every day.  This is the perfect time to start thinking about outdoor family photos!  Now booking for Spring/Summer of 2017.  And of course, ALWAYS taking newborn bookings.  Drop me a line, we can chat! info@k-photo.ca
