I can hardly believe it has been 13 years since I decided to start embark on this adventure!! I have met soooo many amazing people over the years. As I looked back over some of my photos from the past…it’s honestly CRAZY to think that some of those wee babies are now teenagers too!! Thanks guys!! You make this a really fun job.

Professionally…not a lot went on this past year. We were nearly entering the Spring season when this pandemic hit hard. Ontario in a full lockdown. Photography was deemed not to be essential. Some planned sessions just didn’t end up happening. And time went on. The kids were schooling from home. We played a lot of games, baked and I learned to cut hair. We ordered music to watch on TV and even attended a drive-in concert. The highlight was renting a cabin in the Kawarthas. It was the perfect time to get away where we would not see anyone! I did manage to hold my annual Fall mini sessions. It was great to see my VIP’s again. Christmas was a little different. But we made it though to 2021!! Here is just a snippet of what my camera saw this past year.

Hard to imagine it was 11 years ago that I made the choice to stay home, make my own hours, and do what I love. This anniversary is a bit of a weird one. But we will be out and about soon enough capturing your family memories. Until then…stay safe.

These gals met at work 20-ish years ago. And they are still best friends today. Now with a pile of kiddos between them! After braving the all the bugs we did manage to get everyone into a couple of photos. They all definitely kept me on my toes. Haha! These gals had a lot to celebrate: some big birthdays, a new baby, moving to a new place. It’s so nice to be able to get everyone together to celebrate these big moments. And plus, aren’t these lovely ladies just gorgeous??

Holy moly!! I had to check my calendar twice!! Could it really be TEN YEARS since K Photo and Design was born?!?! So many amazing families I have met, and stories I have heard. I have to admit…I do feel a little nostalgic when I look back at some of these photos from the past. From my first paying customer (well, his mom paid the bill…haha!) – to my most recent family that I have met up with every year for the last 4-5 years or so.

It’s so hard to believe that 2014 has come and gone already! I just wanted to take the time to thank all of the wonderful families I was able to spend time with this year. You’d think as a photographer that you would have a million and one photos of your own kids. Well, that’s somewhat true. But to actually get those nice classic “portraits”, takes a little effort. I attempt to take the kiddies out at least once a year, although it is getting more and more difficult. I found this beautiful patch of purple flowers and just KNEW I had to take my gal there. Funny enough, my son – who HATES having his photo taken…was a tad jealous of this situation. So I made sure to find an EQUALLY cool place to take him for his own portraits. And well…I’m VERY excited to share the results – because it just love ‘em to death! Happy summer everyone!!
