A look back at 2022 – Ottawa photographer

In looking back at the photos taken in 2022 – I realize that I didn’t actually meet up with many families! But I did see a lot of my VIP’s and even met a new clan! My crew was very busy with renovations and our garden this year and we took some much needed time at a cottage in Quebec over the summer. I guess that is where the time went! A few favourites to share with you guys:

K Photo is a TEENAGER – Ottawa Photographer

I can hardly believe it has been 13 years since I decided to start embark on this adventure!! I have met soooo many amazing people over the years. As I looked back over some of my photos from the past…it’s honestly CRAZY to think that some of those wee babies are now teenagers too!! Thanks guys!! You make this a really fun job.

Adiós 2021 – Ottawa photographer

January 7, 2022

I had high hopes for 2021…but it proved to be not as expected. Many plans cancelled and rescheduled. That seemed to be the theme of the year. However, one GREAT thing about 2021 was that we were lucky to move into our first home of our very own! Which was an adventure in itself. But also – I have grown fond of being forced to hang out with our little family more. And we haven’t killed each other yet. So that is a a big plus! In the photography world – not A LOT happened this year. I was happy to be able to offer my annual mini sessions in the Fall. But other than that – pretty quiet for K Photo and Design.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me!! At this time I’m putting a little pause on things while this lovely pandemic has gone a little crazy. But hoping to get my camera back out this Spring – so feel free to drop me a line!! Any previous clients can always order more digital images, prints or products (for contactless pick up). Stay safe out there!! And wishing you all the best for 2022!!! 🙂

Out with the old – Brandon photographer

Back in 2012, my friends asked me to design their new business logo. They had purchased the flower shop that Trish had been working at since – well….way back in high school! But it was time for a change, and they got rid of the franchise name and ventured out as an independent flower shop in Brandon, Manitoba. 2021 was the year of change. The Bloom Box packed up and moved to a brand new location. Which lead to the need to revamp the old logo. After many tries – the owners agreed they really liked the original logo. It just needed a little tweak. And this is what we came up with.

I cannot take credit for these lovely photos. They were sent to me by The Bloom Box. Hard to imagine it was 11 years ago that I made the choice to stay home, make my own hours, and do what I love. This anniversary is a bit of a weird one. But we will be out and about soon enough capturing your family memories. Until then…stay safe.

10 YEARS – Ottawa photographer

Holy moly!! I had to check my calendar twice!! Could it really be TEN YEARS since K Photo and Design was born?!?! So many amazing families I have met, and stories I have heard. I have to admit…I do feel a little nostalgic when I look back at some of these photos from the past. From my first paying customer (well, his mom paid the bill…haha!) – to my most recent family that I have met up with every year for the last 4-5 years or so.

So in honor of this SPECIAL occasion….please, take the time to go through some of your old photos that maybe you didn’t get a chance to print at the time. And I will send them off to be professionally printed for a wicked discounted price!! (50% off any desk print up to 8×10, and 25% off any wall portrait sized 11×14-20×24.)

I am a firm believer in printing your memories. With all the advanced changes in technology…there is no telling when the media you choose to store your images will become obsolete. Or just plain fail you. #printwhatyouwanttopreserve

Images must be taken by K Photo and Design between 2009 and April 1st, 2019. If you can provide the image number, that would be great. If not, we’ll figure it out. Goodbye 2017!! – Ottawa photographer

January 8, 2018

2017 brought me many old, and some new friends.  Love me some new baby smell!! And also my Fall mini sessions were a big hit!  Beautiful weather!!  As a bonus,  I just love catching up with these people every year.  The kids grow so quickly!!  And of course, if I can convince my own children to get in front of my camera – I’m winning!    OH!  And let’s not forget – in 2017 I managed to launch my new website!  If anyone knows my technical abilities…this was a HUGE accomplishment!  Haha!  Anyways, it looks like it’s about time to welcome 2018!!  Here are a few of my fave photos from this past year.  If you see yourself – let me know!!

Introducing a NEW location you can view K Photo and Design’s artwork.  Baby Snuggles 3D/4D Ultrasound facility gives you the opportunity to see your baby before he/she arrives!  They offer various different packages allowing you to hear your baby’s heartbeat, gender determination, you can even bring home your ultrasound pictures!  I love matching up the ultrasound photos with a baby’s newborn images to see the resemblance.  They also make a pretty nice prop to use for maternity photos.  Just saying.
