Warm fall days – Ottawa family photographer

No time like the present to catch up on my fall mini session blogging! As I sit at my desk with talks of this “polar vortex” on its way – I am reminded of those beautiful, warm fall days. I find it very satisfying to crunch those fall leaves while wearing flip-flops. Haha! Anyways, I am so happy that this session went forward as it did. It’s not easy when attempting to coordinate around kids activities. And then we were thrown for a loop when one of the clan got the part in the production they auditioned for! Yay!! I think I have met up with this lovely group every year since before their first baby was born. That is A LOT of smiles!! But after 12 years of photos…this is hands down my FAVOURITE photo of mom and dad. Aren’t these two just super adorable??

A look back at 2022 – Ottawa photographer

In looking back at the photos taken in 2022 – I realize that I didn’t actually meet up with many families! But I did see a lot of my VIP’s and even met a new clan! My crew was very busy with renovations and our garden this year and we took some much needed time at a cottage in Quebec over the summer. I guess that is where the time went! A Decade +1 – Ottawa photographer

Hard to imagine it was 11 years ago that I made the choice to stay home, make my own hours, and do what I love. This anniversary is a bit of a weird one. But we will be out and about soon enough capturing your family memories. Until then…stay safe.

10 YEARS – Ottawa photographer

Holy moly!! I had to check my calendar twice!! Could it really be TEN YEARS since K Photo and Design was born?!?! So many amazing families I have met, and stories I have heard. I have to admit…I do feel a little nostalgic when I look back at some of these photos from the past. From my first paying customer (well, his mom paid the bill…haha!) – to my most recent family that I have met up with every year for the last 4-5 years or so.

So in honor of this SPECIAL occasion….please, take the time to go through some of your old photos that maybe you didn’t get a chance to print at the time. And I will send them off to be professionally printed for a wicked discounted price!! (50% off any desk print up to 8×10, and 25% off any wall portrait sized 11×14-20×24.)

I am a firm believer in printing your memories. With all the advanced changes in technology…there is no telling when the media you choose to store your images will become obsolete. Or just plain fail you. #printwhatyouwanttopreserve

Images must be taken by K Photo and Design between 2009 and April 1st, 2019. If you can provide the image number, that would be great. If not, we’ll figure it out. The year 2016 – Ottawa photographer

Hard to believe that 2017 is right around the corner.  So I just wanted to look at some of the amazing people I have met, and also reunited with over this past year.  I was lucky enough to be invited to capture a baptism and also a 90th birthday party.  My fall mini sessions are always a fave.  I love catching up with families I haven’t seen in a while.  And the kids ALWAYS have amazing stories for me.  Haha!  Smile  So here are a few of my most loved photos from 2016…if you see yourself – let me know! Love n’ spoons – Ottawa couples photographer

October 12, 2016

So I looked it up…apparently the traditional 5th anniversary gift is wood. How appropriate to have your photos taken in the woods!!  We took a trip down to the lovely Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau.  Although it was busy, (definitely a hot spot for weddings) – we found some amazing little spots to capture some fun photos to mark the occasion.  Seriously couldn’t have asked for a better day!  And at one point we managed to become one of the tourist attractions.  Everyone wanted to stop by to read their anniversary sign. Some came with marital advice. Haha! Winking smile

Warm September breeze – Ottawa photographer

This year was definitely a strange one.  I was cold in August, and then back to shorts in September.  Who woulda thought that still, the END of September we would be wandering around in t-shirts?  This couple was super fun to work with.  And a definite change from all the children and families I had been photographing earlier.

This first image is by far my favourite.  And I knew it the minute I clicked the shutter.  They’re so cute!!  All the best in your wedding planning!! Smile
