Hard to believe that 2017 is right around the corner.  So I just wanted to look at some of the amazing people I have met, and also reunited with over this past year.  I was lucky enough to be invited to capture a baptism and also a 90th birthday party.  My fall mini sessions are always a fave.  I love catching up with families I haven’t seen in a while.  And the kids ALWAYS have amazing stories for me.  Haha!  Smile  So here are a few of my most loved photos from 2016…if you see yourself – let me know! Winking smile

So I looked it up…apparently the traditional 5th anniversary gift is wood. How appropriate to have your photos taken in the woods!!  We took a trip down to the lovely Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau.  Although it was busy, (definitely a hot spot for weddings) – we found some amazing little spots to capture some fun photos to mark the occasion.  Seriously couldn’t have asked for a better day!  And at one point we managed to become one of the tourist attractions.  Everyone wanted to stop by to read their anniversary sign. Some came with marital advice. Haha! Winking smile

Looking through these bunch of photos, hard to believe I was photographing their engagement five whole years ago!!  And then the big day of course.  Time flies when you’re having fun!!

Still a few more weeks to get in those fall colours.   Please contact me for more info.  info@k-photo.ca

This year was definitely a strange one.  I was cold in August, and then back to shorts in September.  Who woulda thought that still, the END of September we would be wandering around in t-shirts?  This couple was super fun to work with.  And a definite change from all the children and families I had been photographing earlier.

This first image is by far my favourite.  And I knew it the minute I clicked the shutter.  They’re so cute!!  All the best in your wedding planning!! Smile

Happy New Year everyone!!  What a year this has been for me!  I’ve had the opportunity to photograph many expanding bellies, lots of wee babes and a pile of families.  You can now view my work at quite a few places around the city.  3D Miracles ultrasound clinic, Ottawa Integrative Health Clinic, Hands on Health massage therapy, and now at FAB Baby Gear!  (You can also purchase newborn packages directly through them AND the packages are on their baby registry.)

Okay, I have to share some favourites from 2011!!  Open-mouthed smile

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!  Ours was quite busy, as we popped down the the Niagara Falls area to be at/in my brother’s wedding.  Here are their engagement photos if you’d like to see.  But seriously, you couldn’t have PLANNED a better day!  (Although these two had actually been planning for the last year…heehee, but you just never know how things will go.)

Everyone was dressed up, my kiddos (ring bearer and flower girl) were adorable, the ceremony was beautiful, we had a fun time with the photos, food was good, and we partied until the wee hours of the morning.  The only thing that wasn’t good was my hair the next day!  (And no you won’t be seeing any pics of that!!)

The bride all dressed up and no where to go.  So she checks in on Facebook.  Smile

You’d think these two just got married or something!

My kiddies in their fancies.  They LOVED the ride in the limo.  Although they both called it a ‘limbo’ ALL day!  Winking smile

The flowers were beau-ti-ful!  I loved the fall colours, and the berries were a nice touch.  (Although I had to keep the kids from trying to eat them!!)

wedding cake

My brother – very much into cars…seemed perfectly fitting for them to have a yellow convertible (just like theirs) upon their cake.  Most importantly, it tasted damn good!!  Open-mouthed smile

Okay, yes I know there are no photos of ME.  But trust me, I looked very nice too.  Winking smile  I want to wish my brother and his wife many happy years together, and have an awesome time on your honeymoon!!

My brother is finally getting married this fall!  And as we lead up to the “Bridal shower weekend”…I thought this post would be very appropriate.  This will be the second bridal shower actually.  The first was a few weeks ago put on by the brides family in her hometown.  Technically, this will also be their SECOND engagement session.  Wow, they seem to do things in twos!  Heehee.  They had BEAUTIFUL photos taken by their wedding photographer when they were back in Welland, Ontario a couple months ago.  But being a photographer AND the sister of the groom, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap a few myself.  So I brought the happy couple out last weekend to do some fun engagement photos.  (I’m working on a little something for the wedding.)  Surprise, surprise…it’s photo-related!  Winking smile

I LOVE wedding photos, but I am not a wedding photographer.  However when a friend of mine asked if I would photograph her VERY intimate wedding and grab a few shots of her and her new hubby (along with their witnesses), I jumped at the opportunity.  These two both have the same quirky sense of humour, so I KNEW the wedding day would be a blast!  Especially when they discussed some of their ideas with me, and the fact that the groom was wearing a plaid shirt and jeans.  The bride just wanted him to look like himself.  (Which I just thought was the sweetest thing ever!) Open-mouthed smile

They had given their family and friends a heads up that they were going to be married – they just didn’t tell anyone WHEN!  The decided day was July 23rd, 2011.  We met at the Rockcliffe Park Pavilion in the morning in hopes that no one else had the idea of getting married at the same time they did.  And aside from a few tourists, we were in the clear!  The ceremony was short and sweet, and then we moved on to take a few fun photos.

I had a great time with these guys.  (They even brought their own props – yay!)  Here’s a few I’d like to share with you of the happy couple. Smile
