I’m very excited to introduce a new product available:  Accordion brag books!  They are available in 2 sizes, and can hold up to 10 photos each.  A GREAT gift for any new Grandparent.  Fold the little book up to put in your purse, or open it to display on a table.

Don’t let your kids grow up to be jpegs – Ottawa photographer

I didn’t come up with it, but I read it somewhere and thought just how true it is!

In the days of film, I would walk in to my local photo lab with a 24 exposure roll of film and walk away with about 20 photos to put into my albums.  I’d get reprints done and send them away to my family so they could enjoy pictures of my son as well.  And now with everything going digital, I love being able to easily email or update my facebook with current pictures.  But I still print them out and put them into albums.  For many reasons: Peace of mind.  It’s just an extra back up. I would NEVER want to lose my memories to some stupid technology-fail.  Secondly, I like to see everything as it happens in order.  Not having to search through folders and folders of file numbers on my computer.  I also like to scrapbook, so its fun tell a little story that way.

But any really special photos I try to print up a little bigger and frame them.  Something that you can see every day and enjoy.  I know as consumers we were taught that if you want something for your photo album – order a 4×6.  If you want to put it in a frame on your desk – you will need a 5×7.  And if you want something bigger for your wall – you order an 8×10.  But in truth, you need to measure your wall space and make sure you are ordering the appropriate size – or it will just look silly.  Trust me.  If you are doing a grouping of photos, order a couple smaller ones.  But if you are looking for a big focal point of your home, measure and fill the space!  You’ll thank me later. wall artThis has been something I have wanted to do for YEARS now. I needed a wall portrait of my kids larger than the portrait of my cat. It was time. I love this image – but love it MORE as a 24×36 on my wall. So don’t be afraid to take the plunge and put something big on display. If you have an image you love – just do it! Open-mouthed smile  All of my wall portraits 11×14 and larger are mounted and laminated – all ready to be framed and enjoyed!

(Ha ha!  My poor cat thought I was taking HER photo!  Just look at her posing for me…heehee.)

Product spotlight – Ottawa photographer

I thought it has been a while since I posted some cool ideas for what you can DO with those photos.  (In hopes that they are not spending their days in an envelope sitting in the back of a drawer.) Winking smile

A coffee table book is a GREAT idea when you have so many favourites you just can’t decide what to do with them.  Each book has 20 press-printed pages, hard cover with photo and is custom designed by me!  It’s fun to have a mix of colour and black & whites – even full page spreads!  The possibilities are endless!

I know we’re almost halfway through the year (if you can believe it!), but I wanted to share a new package that was introduced back in January.  It has quickly become one of my more popular items, especially for new parents.  I’m talking about Digital Packages.  I currently have two packages available to suit your needs.

Welcome to 2011 – Ottawa portrait photographer

Happy New Year everyone!  I’m not doing too bad, posting a New Year’s special on the 4th of January.  ;)

So this is brand new for this year.   It’s a small calendar with 12 months and one image.  Great to use it at home, the office or even a gift for the grandparents!  Each calendar is 5×7 in size, mounted for durability and only $20!  However, for my lucky January and February clients, you will receive one on me.  My little welcome to 2011!  :)
