I have a few families that fight for my first AM slot for my annual Fall mini sessions.  But these guys usually win – as Mom is always thinking ahead.  Usually before Summer is over she is contacting me to get going on organizing the sessions.  Haha!  The kids are always so funny.  Goofy, but well behaved.  I always have such a fun time with them.  Mom asked me if I recognized little bro’s sweater – and I DID.  It was worn by his big brother a few years back for the kids fall portraits. They’re so darn cute!!

Currently booking the last little bit of Fall sessions before the leaves are gone for another year.  If you’re interested, let me know! info@k-photo.ca  And as always, you can keep track of what is going on at K Photo and Design by following along on Facebook or Twitter.

“We have added another munchkin to our brood and would love to have you capture the fleeting newborn stage and update our family photo.”  I couldn’t believe I was hearing this update from one of my favourite families!!  It’s amazing to compare this new little guy to his big brother and sister.  As baby was getting ready for his debut photo shoot his brother and sister kept me busy with stories of their Dad’s hockey career.  What was even funnier was the look Dad gave me….like the majority of that story may not be true.  Haha!  But they did keep me entertained while baby was snacking.  Even suggested I should photograph them wrestling; which I promptly did.  Haha!  What bundles of energy!!  And baby…well he just liked to be held – and eat – and then be held some more.  I think he has Mom and Dad wrapped around his little finger already.  As they should be.

Newborns tend to photograph best when they are brand new, therefore it is best to reserve your spot while you are still pregnant.  Now booking newborn, kids and family portraits sessions.  And please stay tuned to hear about our annual mini session dates coming up this Fall.  Any questions?  Give me a shout!  info@k-photo.ca  Talk soon!!

What a fun family I had the opportunity to photograph late last year.  Baby was a bit fussy, which gave me the opportunity to catch LOTS of baby snuggles.  Even though he was almost 2 months old, he hadn’t lost that new baby smell yet.  And that fuzzy little head?  I couldn’t help but rub it!! (Just a little…Haha!)  Big brother and sister were definitely the helpers we needed.  They were pros at calming and keeping baby entertained.  With both older kids into the hockey scene…it was a must to capture them in their gear.  Which proved to be a challenge to pull that stuff out for two active kids AND keep them quiet so they didn’t wake the baby who had finally dozed off.  But we managed to do it!! Just look at some of the awesome images that came from that day.

While we enjoy a little bit more Winter – keep in mind, it is still a great time to book your family portraits.  Outdoors in the snow is such an awesome backdrop for families and kids.  Or if that’s not your thing – a cozy lifestyle session at home might be more for you.  Either way – please contact me for more info as to how to book your own Winter portrait session.  info@k-photo.ca  As always, you can keep up with what’s happening by following K Photo and Design on Facebook or Twitter.  I look forward to hearing from you!

It’s been so drab the last few weeks – I thought a little colour would be nice.  And what a MASSIVE amount of colour we managed to find this past fall.  Trees were at the point of losing their colour…but this one AMAZING yellow tree hung on just for us.  The girls just loved hiding behind the big leaves.  After a heavy rainfall – the ground was so wet, it definitely kept mom and dad busy trying to keep the kids clean!!  I didn’t do so well myself.  I think I had mud and water up to my knees!  Haha!  But worth it in the end.  I just loved their little ladybug coats.  Can you get any cuter than that? 🙂

Annual mini sessions are a GREAT way to keep your family photos current.  If you would like to be put on the mailing list for the fall of 2017, please let me know!  info@k-photo.ca  I’d love to hear from you!  🙂

One of the things I look forward to every Fall is having the chance to meet up with this family.  Aside from baby photos, I think this is the 5th year we’ve been doing this.  (Just last year!)  The kids ALWAYS keep me on my toes…and the chatter is hilarious!  As you can imagine, working with 3 different, very busy children can be a challenge.  But I am just so happy with this family photo – makes it ALL worth it.  Aren’t they adorable?!?! Open-mouthed smile

Hard to believe that 2017 is right around the corner.  So I just wanted to look at some of the amazing people I have met, and also reunited with over this past year.  I was lucky enough to be invited to capture a baptism and also a 90th birthday party.  My fall mini sessions are always a fave.  I love catching up with families I haven’t seen in a while.  And the kids ALWAYS have amazing stories for me.  Haha!  Smile  So here are a few of my most loved photos from 2016…if you see yourself – let me know! Apparently a lot can happen in 5 years.  I did not realize it had been THAT long since I last met up with this family.  But so happy we did!!  I mean, how adorable are these gals??  And we managed to capture these nice smiles in the midst of a “fairy attack”.  Haha!  Perhaps it was the crew I had just before them that had woken up all the little bugs, maybe the sun, or the fact that the temperature had warmed up by then…but it was CRAZY!!  They were all little troopers though.  Mom kept telling them they were little fairies.  And it seemed to work!  Because we ended up with these amazingly cute photos!! I know I’m in for a fun time when I book a family session with this family.  A lot has changed since last year.  Or even the year before!  Little girl comes right up to me and introduces herself (as though we’ve never met).  But not to be outdone by her brother, he ALSO had to introduce himself.  So she starts showing me her pretty bracelet she’s wearing.  Boy jumps right in and shows off that HE is wearing a sweater!  Haha!  What little kooks!!  By the end of the session things got a bit goofy.  I know, shocking!  We were trying to keep the kids happy and interested by giving them these beautiful red leaves to hold onto for the photo.  They were both shaking their leaves as happy as can be.  But little boy kept shaking the leaf right in front of his face.  Which was not the BEST idea from a photographer’s perspective.  So I asked him if he could shake his leaf down by his side – and proceeded to demonstrate for him.  So he agrees he will do that and walks right over to me and begins to shake his leaf right beside me – which TECHNICALLY is exactly what I told him to do!!  Haha!  What a kid!!  I honestly have never dealt with a small child who follows direction as well as he did.  Literally.  Smile

So fun to see a family year after year…and in this case, every second year. Haha!  A lot has changed since 2014!  (And definitely since 2012!!)  This little guy, still full of energy – but the stories he can tell.  What a funny guy!!  We picked the perfect day for photos though.  After a cold spell, it was nice that it had warmed up a bit.  We walked around for a few different locations at the Arboretum.  But when I told this little guy we were going to go on an adventure through the forest – you should have seen his eyes sparkle!  He started in on this story about his favourite show, Ranger Rob.  We hiked up this little trail, and he was as happy as anything guiding us along.  Such a fun bunch!!
