This family ALWAYS brings me fun things to play with at their portrait sessions. A puppy had joined the family quite recently – and NEEDED to be at this photo shoot. I could not agree more!! Any excuse to get down in the dirt is a good session in my books. We decided she she was so well behaved that this ball of fluff should have her own little portrait session that we squeezed in right at the end. I don’t think she understands the concept of social distancing…haha! My camera was FULL of doggie drool. As you probably know…I am more of a cat person. But this little pooch could sway me in the the other direction. She was just so sweet!! 😛

On these cold days it sure is nice to look back on some warmer times. I am put indoor portrait sessions on a little pause for the time being – but always up for venturing outdoors. The snow can be such a nice backdrop for family photos. Even the furry kind!! Stay safe everyone – and send a message if interested in booking a portrait session: info@k-photo.ca

As everyone’s lives get busier…makes it difficult to find the time to get together. Which is why it has definitely been a few years since I’ve seen these guys. I can imagine the dinner table is hilarious in this house. The kids started a joke competition to try to see who had the funniest jokes. I heard some new ones that day, for sure!!

At this point in time, I am only photographing outdoors. So if you are looking for a rustic outdoor family session – I’m your photographer!! Stay safe everyone!

This past year has been filled with LOTS of repeat friends/clients. And I just love it!! It’s amazing how fast those kiddies grow! And they always have some sort of story to tell me. Here’s a few of my favourite images of 2019. Happy New Year to all!!

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this…but I am now booking for 2020. Can’t wait to hear from you!

Record snowfall AND a snowday?  The perfect opportunity to bribe my children to venture out into this winter wonderland.  Sitting at my desk watching those perfect fluffy snowflakes fall, I knew we had to hurry up to get out there.  Kids
not so fast, OR enthusiastic as I was.  I’m waiting for them at the door with my gear as they are getting ready.  I yell up at them “HURRY UP!!  YOU’RE MISSING IT!!!!”  My son wanders over to the door and says “Wow, Mom.  You are clearly insane.”  Haha!  And that’s what you have to do sometimes to get those perfect shots.  Oh, and offer donuts.  Smile

Okay, clearly I had a little trouble in choosing my favourites. Snow had stopped by the time we had found a location we could park at.  As most parking lots were not cleared at all.  But just as we were about to leave the snow started up again.  So I did manage to get a few with the snow actually falling.  So I’m pretty happy about that.  Although, I just love shooting in fresh snow.  It’s a beautiful backdrop for sure!

It’s been a while since I’ve met up with these guys.  But they ALWAYS bring their smiles!  And this time around, they brought along a new addition.  What a little sweetie!!  Anyone that knows me, knows that when photographing kids you must work very quickly.  Moving this way and that.  And often times, I don’t ever look where I’m going.  Family all set up, moving leaves around
throwing twigs out of the way to get that nice portrait.  Although this is the first time I pulled up a tree seedling.  I was HORRIFIED as to what I had done
and quickly popped it back into the ground.  Even had nightmares about that poor little tree.  Haha!  I may visit in the Spring to see if it survived.  Although Dad was quick to tell me that I KILLED IT!!  Haha!  And that is why I love hanging out with this family.  Always great to joke around with them.  Smile
