This is the 10th season I have met up with this family. I can hardly believe it! But these guys always bring extra fun to the shoot. (Usually in the form of something furry.) They always say that babies and animals are the hardest thing to photograph – as they don’t always perform in the way you are hoping. But I just think they add a lot of laughs. Especially when this pup was acting as my assistant! She definitely got some great smiles from these guys.

Now booking for summer 2024. If you wish to add in your furry friend to a family session – just ask! I can usually accommodate your requests.

I know what you are thinking – Christmas? Isn’t that over? Well, it is true. But I have never been one to be on time. So here we go. This year was derailed quite early on. My dad unexpectedly passed away in the Spring. We are still in shock. Our plans for the year, the holidays, Christmas seemed to be ever changing and adjusting. It was difficult to feel “Christmassy”. Which I think contributed to just sitting back and letting somethings just be late this year. Between the two kids I managed to have a Christmas newsletter written and all my baking done. That was a big help for me. And well the kitties – as long as they have a place to sleep, they’re alright.

So I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. And may it continue through the whole year! This is just a little snippet of the holiday joy of 2023.

Miss Ellie quite enjoys the Christmas lights. She can usually be found under the tree napping – or this comfy spot on the couch, enjoying the glow.
Ophelia thought Grandma made this pillow just for her. But who are we to tell her otherwise?
Does anyone remember these Christmas albums? I am quickly discovering that all my favourite Christmas songs are being removed from Spotify. It might be time to go back to our CD and cassette collections. These 3 albums had my most loved Christmas tunes.
We have been lucky to take in a holiday themed play for the last 3 years. Even better when one of your extended family members is in the cast! What an amazing show. And so lucky a good chunk of our family were able to attend. We took up nearly a whole row in the theatre!
It wouldn’t be the Christmas season without our semi-annual trip to the dentist! I always love the HUMONGOUS poinsettia. And the sleigh of toothpaste was a nice touch.
We watched this holiday movie this year. It was actually pretty ridiculous. But super fun. Not for young children.
E’s “awesome” cookies he made. Our holiday chalkboard with a “rockin’ around the Christmas tree” drawing. It so silly, but this is one of my new favourite decorations. It’s a gift tag from last year that I framed. So simple – but it looked so cute! And a Christmas Eve game of Canadian headbands. Tuques and reindeer antlers – I guess that is what Canadian’s are made of?
And Christmas would not be complete without those twinkly lights.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy 2024!

Have you ever wondered if your little fur-baby would enjoy an outdoor family session with K Photo and Design? Well, this kitty did! I was so happy when I saw one of my favourite families walking down the trail to our pre-determined meeting spot with a little crate in hand. I honestly couldn’t believe how well behaved she was walking along tied to a leash. Nothing seemed to startle her. Not a gust of wind. Not people passing by. Or even other pets out for a walk. She was boss. Anyways…let’s get back to this lovely family. I ALWAYS have a good time with these guys. And so glad this pandemic did not put a damper on our fall photos of 2020.

Due to the lockdown, I am not taking any portrait clients at this time. However, when we get the go ahead to start working again – please think of me for any outdoor family (and pets!) that you would like photographed. Stay safe everyone!!

This past year has been filled with LOTS of repeat friends/clients. And I just love it!! It’s amazing how fast those kiddies grow! And they always have some sort of story to tell me. Here’s a few of my favourite images of 2019. Happy New Year to all!!

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this…but I am now booking for 2020. Can’t wait to hear from you!

I’ve just completely given up on trying to get everything done in time for Christmas. Then I can enjoy the holiday a little more. I write New Years cards and do Boxing Day baking. Haha! And my Christmas blog post is going out on December 30th this year. That’s just how I roll!!

Since my baking is never done on time…I rely on Christmas scents. And as most of you probably know…I am ADDICTED to Bath and Body Works. Soaps, lotion, candles – you name it! This one is Twisted Peppermint – and it is THE BEST!!
I have seen this movie a million and one times!! And the kids love it…so we watch it over and over. However, this year we watched the Netflix special “The Movies that made us” on Home Alone. And it made it that much more interesting to know some of the behind the scenes tricks.
Every year we come up with a Christmas cocktail. This year it was Jack Frosties. Basically a slushie with a whack of alcohol in it. It was damn good! But strong.
You can’t avoid the Christmas MUSIC!! I am totally loving this Weezer album this holiday.
My hubby picked this up for me just before Christmas. I just love this little Grinch!!
The best part of Christmas…well aside from the family, good foods, fun times, blah blah blah….I just can’t wait to spoil my kitties!! Haha! This little one was TOTALLY into all her new little toys! And then she passed out under the tree.
This one tried out ALL the boxes. Big ones, small ones, flat ones, tall ones…it didn’t matter. But then she was done – and settled down for a nice Christmas nap.

Merry [late] Christmas all!! Of course I’m booking into the New Year for all your family/baby/small event needs. Just drop me a line: info@k-photo.ca

One of my silent auction families booked themselves in for an outdoor portrait session.  Yay!!  (So if you have bid on a gift certificate, and WON – please don’t forget to book your session!)  I was so happy to work with these guys – they were hilarious!!  And you could definitely tell that dog was the baby of the family.  Any photo we attempted to not include himself in….he’d figure out a way to wander in somewhere.  The kids were quite familiar with this trail I had chosen as the backdrop for their photos.  I guess they are avid bike riders, and took this trail a little while back.  I was told all about their adventures, and how they got a flat tire and had to walk back.  The boys like to name their off road trails.  This one was named “Africa”.  Not sure why – we didn’t see any safari animals.  Which is probably a good thing!

With this blanket of white snow out there – it is the PERFECT backdrop for your family photos.  Don’t delay in booking!!  You never know what is coming our way (weather-wise).  And of course, I am always booking in-home newborn sessions – no matter what the weather is.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at info@k-photo.ca  or join the mailing list at www.k-photo.ca  I look forward to chatting!!
