This past year has definitely been interesting. Between restrictions on gatherings and when photographers are allowed to work – I was sure happy to push through with my annual Fall mini sessions. One of the big reasons is my VIP’s that I see every year. It just would not be the same without them! These guys always bring me a good laugh. I love the random competition between the kids. Who got a new coat and who has new boots for the shoot. Haha! They are definitely not shy to tell me their life stories. We had the perfect setting for all of these stories – this beautiful Nepean walking trail. And the weather could not have been better either.

I am looking forward to some nice warm weather to get out more with my camera. If you are looking to capture some family memories (while following Covid rules) please send a message my way! info@k-photo.ca

Stay safe everyone!!

Have you ever wondered if your little fur-baby would enjoy an outdoor family session with K Photo and Design? Well, this kitty did! I was so happy when I saw one of my favourite families walking down the trail to our pre-determined meeting spot with a little crate in hand. I honestly couldn’t believe how well behaved she was walking along tied to a leash. Nothing seemed to startle her. Not a gust of wind. Not people passing by. Or even other pets out for a walk. She was boss. Anyways…let’s get back to this lovely family. I ALWAYS have a good time with these guys. And so glad this pandemic did not put a damper on our fall photos of 2020.

Due to the lockdown, I am not taking any portrait clients at this time. However, when we get the go ahead to start working again – please think of me for any outdoor family (and pets!) that you would like photographed. Stay safe everyone!!

I love this family so much! And I’m so happy under the circumstances we were still able to get together this fall. We could not have asked for a better day either! The colours were out; and the temperature was right. [As a side-note, I always struggle with coming up with a title of these blog posts. It’s no secret I am a big supporter of Bath and Body Works…haha! Well, that is where the title of this post was inspired from. My current soap!! And it seemed appropriate.]

As always, still accepting outdoor family/children sessions for 2020. Please contact me if interested. And stay safe!

These guys are always so fun to hang out with.  This little gal had to catch me up on ALL that was new since the last time we met.  Getting her ears pierced was definitely a highlight. Anyways, we couldn’t take TOO long with the chit chat…..breakfast was waiting.

It is not too late for outdoor portraits!! Now booking first snow family sessions.  Please contact for details: info@k-photo.ca

It’s incredible how big these kids are getting!! They have changed so much in only a year.  You can start to see their little goofy personalities more and more.  I laughed so hard when they were fighting over what they wanted to sit on.  Of course, they chose the SAME seat.  So the little girl distracts her brother with something, and then takes her spot on the box that she wanted all along.  Haha!  She knows how this sibling thing works. Winking smile

Every year I attempt to take the kids out for some fall photos so we can send them off in our Christmas cards, for gifts and all that fun stuff.  And every year it gets a little more difficult. Unfortunately they usually get left to the last minute when it’s cold, and there are no coloured leaves.  But that’s the way it is.  I was happy with this years bunch though.  But for anyone that thinks that photographers must have a ridiculous amount of awesome photos of their kids….think again.  These outtakes speak for themselves. Smile with tongue out

And yes, I asked her to push her glasses up – that’s what I got.

Still taking advantage of the last little bit of Fall.  Please contact me to book your session: info@k-photo.ca.  And of course, keep up with what’s going on by following K Photo and Design on Facebook or Twitter!

Record snowfall AND a snowday?  The perfect opportunity to bribe my children to venture out into this winter wonderland.  Sitting at my desk watching those perfect fluffy snowflakes fall, I knew we had to hurry up to get out there.  Kids…not so fast, OR enthusiastic as I was.  I’m waiting for them at the door with my gear as they are getting ready.  I yell up at them “HURRY UP!!  YOU’RE MISSING IT!!!!”  My son wanders over to the door and says “Wow, Mom.  You are clearly insane.”  Haha!  And that’s what you have to do sometimes to get those perfect shots.  Oh, and offer donuts.  Smile

Okay, clearly I had a little trouble in choosing my favourites. Snow had stopped by the time we had found a location we could park at.  As most parking lots were not cleared at all.  But just as we were about to leave the snow started up again.  So I did manage to get a few with the snow actually falling.  So I’m pretty happy about that.  Although, I just love shooting in fresh snow.  It’s a beautiful backdrop for sure!

A bit of a personal post today.  But this fall my gal made the decision that she wanted to chop off her hair and donate it to make wigs for cancer patients. I think she was a bit tired of me combing through the knots…haha!  But still, a pretty good deed I thought.  When she came to me with this idea; I told her to sleep on it.  She’d been growing that mop for a while now; and it would definitely take a while for it to grow back.  I needed to make sure she had thought this all through.  But every day she came to me “Mom, did you make the appointment yet?”  (I think it was ME that was having more of a problem with this plan than she was.  She had her mind made up!)  So I made the appointment.  We went to The Hair Bar in Kanata.  They were AMAZING!  My daughter said she felt like a movie star.  Haha!  (She could definitely get used to being pampered.)  So off it went – all 13 inches of it!  And somehow she came out looking about 5 years older!!  I did NOT sign up for that!  Haha!   She did love her new haircut.  And today, loves it the same.  Her ponytail was sent off to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  Super easy to do.  (We just received a letter of thanks yesterday.)  The Canadian Cancer Society will then in turn give these real hair wigs out to women going through cancer treatments that would otherwise not be able to afford something like that.

My gal was very proud to have made a contribution.  But has been on the lookout to see if she can see anyone that might be wearing her hair. Winking smile

I have seen these “babies” grow since they were only 5 days old.  So much fun to see them again and again; they definitely keep me on my toes.  SO full of energy!!  I have no idea how mom keeps up with them!  But the giggles….man the GIGGLES!!!  One would start and then the other one would get going.  It was infectious!! Open-mouthed smile

It’s been a few years since I’ve seen these cuties.  But my oh my…how they have changed from their newbie and even their one year sessions!! They were so cute and chatty.  I love hearing kids little stories.  They have such a neat perspective on the world.  And they always keep me laughing!!   Smile
