Well…we survived the first days of school!  Yay!

My big guy was excited to go back and see all his friends again.  Going into Grade 4, he’s in a different part of the school with a different part of the yard to play (or hang out) in.  He has many teachers, and transfers from class to class at times.  He definitely feels like he owns the school now!

Fourth Grade

And my baby girl has started Junior Kindergarten.  I can hardly believe it!  But we survived the first day – BOTH of us.  No tears at all.  (Which was good…because if she would have started, it would have been all downhill from there.)  She was very brave and walked into that classroom with her head held high, grabbed the teachers hand and went to put her stuff away.  Her stories of the day were so funny.  And BOTH of them were talking my ear off on the way home!  Smile

It’s always a little bittersweet to see summer end and school start up again.  I hope all you parents have survived like me!!  Smile

Gotta love this rebellious, uncooperative stage.  Well, at least I HOPE it’s a stage!  It’s like pulling teeth to try to get my son to agree to let me take his photo.  (Usually it’s the back of his head I get.)  But since everyone went crazy over the adorable photos of his sister, I think he was a little jealous.  So that, coupled with a chance to ride the city bus somewhere cool…he agreed.

Although trying to get him on his own was another challenge.  Lil’ sis kept jumping in and trying to hog the spotlight!  I finally got her to help me by telling jokes.  I don’t know who was laughing more!  (If you know what 4 year old jokes are like.)

I MAY be a little biased….but there are so many cute ones, I really have no idea what I’m going to do with them all!  But believe me, they will not sit on my computer.  I always make a point of printing for my photo albums, and then some definitely go in frames.  Open-mouthed smile

I took my gal out to capture her 4 year old portrait a few weeks ago.  She insisted she needed to wear that sparkly skirt (it’s her fave!).  And we thought we’d try to find some pink trees.  We didn’t have very much luck; but did manage to find a couple.  I was going to keep the photos to myself, but I was so proud how they turned out.  It’s true that photographing your own kids is terribly hard work.  (That’s why most people hire other people to do it!)  She’s at that stage where she refuses to look at the camera, and is most often just a blur.  This is totally her and her spunky little self, and I love it!  Smile
