Among the trees – Ottawa family photographer

I know Fall is approaching when I get a message from this Mom: “When will your Fall photos be this year?” I have been photographing this family since before they were born – and I LOVE getting the chance to catch up with them every year. And how much they’ve GROWN. Dang!! Can’t they stop doing that?? Haha!

I just adore these girls and their mom and dad. I always have a good time when we get together. And I must admit…things do get just a BIT silly. Haha! And this time was no different. Those smiles say it all.

Summer sands – Ottawa family photographer

Do I feel special that every time H comes into town she usually calls me up to book a photo session of her and her little family? Yup, I sure do!! Although, it is getting a little more difficult to organize when we have to worry about everybody and their plans and events going on. But we made it work. And what a BEAUTIFUL DAY it was!! I can’t believe how much this little guy has CHANGED from the last time I saw him in 2016!!

Besties – Stittsville photographer

These gals met at work 20-ish years ago. And they are still best friends today. Now with a pile of kiddos between them! After braving the all the bugs we did manage to get everyone into a couple of photos. They all definitely kept me on my toes. Haha! These gals had a lot to celebrate: some big birthdays, a new baby, moving to a new place. It’s so nice to be able to get everyone together to celebrate these big moments. And plus, aren’t these lovely ladies just gorgeous??

10 YEARS – Ottawa photographer

Holy moly!! I had to check my calendar twice!! Could it really be TEN YEARS since K Photo and Design was born?!?! So many amazing families I have met, and stories I have heard. I have to admit…I do feel a little nostalgic when I look back at some of these photos from the past. From my first paying customer (well, his mom paid the bill…haha!) – to my most recent family that I have met up with every year for the last 4-5 years or so.

So in honor of this SPECIAL occasion….please, take the time to go through some of your old photos that maybe you didn’t get a chance to print at the time. And I will send them off to be professionally printed for a wicked discounted price!! (50% off any desk print up to 8×10, and 25% off any wall portrait sized 11×14-20×24.)

I am a firm believer in printing your memories. With all the advanced changes in technology…there is no telling when the media you choose to store your images will become obsolete. Or just plain fail you. #printwhatyouwanttopreserve

Images must be taken by K Photo and Design between 2009 and April 1st, 2019. If you can provide the image number, that would be great. If not, we’ll figure it out. Goodbye 2018! – Ottawa photographer

2018 had many highlights. First off…we added 2 kittens to our family. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my dominant hand. Making a complete set of working hands! Haha! My daughter donated 14 inches of hair. My son made honor roll. My husband joined a band. And let’s not forget about that tornado!! Still in shock over that. And of course…all of the amazing returning families and new friends my camera had the pleasure of photographing this past year. Cheers, guys!!

Sometimes you need a little Christmas – Ottawa photographer

Or a boxing day, in this case. Regardless….I just wanted to share a few fun holiday photos. You will notice there is no baking photos. I’m still working on getting that done. Perhaps by New Years!

With being busy and so much going on…I come to look forward to our Christmas cockatail. This year – Christmosas. DE-LISH!!
Every year we try to add a new ornament to the tree. This year because of our kitties – everything was non-breakable. This super sparkly pineapple is my fave!
I won’t deny….our babies were spoiled a bit this Christmas. TOYS EVERYWHERE!! But this troublemaker will play with ANYTHING. Including the ornaments on the tree.
And this little one loves to hide all her toys under the tree skirt. Oh, and pencils too! She got into her sister’s stocking early Christmas morning….pulled everything out…and then tried to HIDE the stocking on her!! Haha! So funny!!
You can’t get through the holidays without some good music. And this was an amazing find this year. A lot of faves on this album!
And while you’re at it….you might as well SMELL like Christmas!! I am a Bath and Body Works fanatic. And this smell is sooooooo good.
We decided to write daily holiday movie/TV quotes on our chalkboard this year. It was fun coming up with them….and also guessing where the quotes are from. #TheGrinch

I know I’m running a bit behind – this is nothing new. But wishing you all a GREAT holiday season!! I hope to meet up with you in the New Year!!

Honk! – Ottawa family photographer

I knew I was in for a giggling good time when we were all set up for a beautiful family photo and this little girl raises her arms and yells “armpits”!!  There is just no recovery from that!!  Haha!  Let’s just say, things got a little goofy.  

So I have to tell you this story.  I had taken the last photo…and was about to pack up when this boy asks if I would take a photo of him and his Mom together.  OMG!! Just melt my heart!!  So we did.  There were a bunch of smiley, standard, looking at the camera poses. But this was by far my favourite.

Not to be outdone by her brother….this little girl needed a photo with her Papa.  All set to take my shot and she grabs onto her Dad’s nose and giggles like a crazy person.  (Perhaps a little back story.  Moments before her Dad said he wouldn’t be able to be a model because his nose was too big.) Haha!

Just because the colours have gone does not mean we need to stay inside.  Nothing is better than that fluffy white stuff as a background for family photos. Please contact for more details. info@k-photo.ca

These guys are always so fun to hang out with.  This little gal had to catch me up on ALL that was new since the last time we met.  Getting her ears pierced was definitely a highlight. Anyways, we couldn’t take TOO long with the chit chat…..breakfast was waiting.
