These guys always have some interesting stories for me.  Keeps me laughing the whole time!!  I guess that is why I love to hang out and take their Christmas photos every year.  I’m always up for trying something different – we had the kids decorate the tree….and then moved on to decorating their brother.  He was a really good sport.  And we had lots of fun.  Smile

It’s been a while since I’ve met up with these guys.  But they ALWAYS bring their smiles!  And this time around, they brought along a new addition.  What a little sweetie!!  Anyone that knows me, knows that when photographing kids you must work very quickly.  Moving this way and that.  And often times, I don’t ever look where I’m going.  Family all set up, moving leaves around…throwing twigs out of the way to get that nice portrait.  Although this is the first time I pulled up a tree seedling.  I was HORRIFIED as to what I had done…and quickly popped it back into the ground.  Even had nightmares about that poor little tree.  Haha!  I may visit in the Spring to see if it survived.  Although Dad was quick to tell me that I KILLED IT!!  Haha!  And that is why I love hanging out with this family.  Always great to joke around with them.  Smile

These girls are growing SO DARN FAST!! Just a few short months ago…a new baby joined the family. And now – she’s all about discovering new things.  Leaves…dirt…her big sister’s hair.  You name it!  Haha!  What a lovely family though; I always have a GREAT time when I get together with this bunch.  And even though the weather was not 100% cooperative, I was glad to capture these moments before the rain decided to hit.  How adorable can you possibly be?? A bit of a personal post today.  But this fall my gal made the decision that she wanted to chop off her hair and donate it to make wigs for cancer patients. I think she was a bit tired of me combing through the knots…haha!  But still, a pretty good deed I thought.  When she came to me with this idea; I told her to sleep on it.  She’d been growing that mop for a while now; and it would definitely take a while for it to grow back.  I needed to make sure she had thought this all through.  But every day she came to me “Mom, did you make the appointment yet?”  (I think it was ME that was having more of a problem with this plan than she was.  She had her mind made up!)  So I made the appointment.  We went to The Hair Bar in Kanata.  They were AMAZING!  My daughter said she felt like a movie star.  Haha!  (She could definitely get used to being pampered.)  So off it went – all 13 inches of it!  And somehow she came out looking about 5 years older!!  I did NOT sign up for that!  Haha!   She did love her new haircut.  And today, loves it the same.  Her ponytail was sent off to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  Super easy to do.  (We just received a letter of thanks yesterday.)  The Canadian Cancer Society will then in turn give these real hair wigs out to women going through cancer treatments that would otherwise not be able to afford something like that.

My gal was very proud to have made a contribution.  But has been on the lookout to see if she can see anyone that might be wearing her hair. Winking smile

Being in Ottawa – one of my FAVOURITE events is the Tulip Festival.  I just love to see the seas of colours and different varieties from year to year.  This year I was surprised to find so many pretty two-toned flowers.  And because it was a nice day, I think EVERYONE decided to visit the festival the same time we did.  I have never SEEN it so busy!!  But regardless, we had a good time.  The kids loved looking at the paintings.  Which I feel like that might be new.  I don’t know that I’ve seen them before.  Smile

Everyone always thinks as a photographer, you must take such BEAUTIFUL photos of your kids all the time.  Well, this is my gal’s “portrait face”.

I know as Christmas approaches I can expect to receive my call to come and hang out with one of my fave families.  These kids crack me up!!  This time around while being entertained by the many stories J had for me…lil’ sis grabbed her own camera and started capturing some great moments, staring ME!  When she showed me the photos, I was surprised to see that with her little camera program she was able to dress me up in a tutu!  I looked GREAT!  Haha!  Anyways…here are some adorable shots – and glad we were able to convince the dog to hang out for a moment too!  Smile
