I had high hopes for 2021…but it proved to be not as expected. Many plans cancelled and rescheduled. That seemed to be the theme of the year. However, one GREAT thing about 2021 was that we were lucky to move into our first home of our very own! Which was an adventure in itself. But also – I have grown fond of being forced to hang out with our little family more. And we haven’t killed each other yet. So that is a a big plus! In the photography world – not A LOT happened this year. I was happy to be able to offer my annual mini sessions in the Fall. But other than that – pretty quiet for K Photo and Design.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me!! At this time I’m putting a little pause on things while this lovely pandemic has gone a little crazy. But hoping to get my camera back out this Spring – so feel free to drop me a line!! Any previous clients can always order more digital images, prints or products (for contactless pick up). Stay safe out there!! And wishing you all the best for 2022!!! 🙂

I have not seen this bunch since 2014 (I checked my records!) The kids have grown SO MUCH!! So much so – from afar I thought mom was one of the kids. A little shy to warm up – but in reality, have not changed at all. It was great to see these guys after all this time. (These kiddies were also the first set of twins I had photographed as newborns). The rain stayed away long enough to capture these adorable photos – even though I’m pretty sure they were sloshing around in their shoes by the end.

These are true siblings. I asked them to put their arms around each other. I don’t know if they are terrible fond of “touching”. Haha!

I feel terribly lucky to have met up with all the families this fall for my annual mini sessions. I am currently only accepting outdoor portrait sessions. If you would like to book something – please contact me: info@k-photo.ca

Stay safe out there!!!

So happy to see this gang again! It had been a few years now…with schedules, covid, etc. The rain was threatening to start up at any point; so we had to make this count. And that they did! This crew is always so funny with their terrible dad jokes and stories. I always have a good time. (I think the photos speak for themselves.)

Currently booking outdoor family/children photos only. Please contact me at info@k-photo.ca for more information.

I have been photographing ONE of these families for years. So I was very happy to get the call to photograph the rest of the bunch. And let me tell you – 5 kids ranging in age from 1 to 11 can be quite busy. I am glad I wore my heavy duty deodorant! Haha! We could not have asked for a nicer day though. It was perfect for getting outside – and the colours were already there to help with a beautiful backdrop to capture these family memories.

Feels good to see people again! Still working our way through year 2 of this pandemic. I won’t be doing any indoor photos over the winter. However, if you are interested in outdoor family portraits when there is a nice covering of white snow – I am your photographer!! Stay safe everyone!

This past year has definitely been interesting. Between restrictions on gatherings and when photographers are allowed to work – I was sure happy to push through with my annual Fall mini sessions. One of the big reasons is my VIP’s that I see every year. It just would not be the same without them! These guys always bring me a good laugh. I love the random competition between the kids. Who got a new coat and who has new boots for the shoot. Haha! They are definitely not shy to tell me their life stories. We had the perfect setting for all of these stories – this beautiful Nepean walking trail. And the weather could not have been better either.

I am looking forward to some nice warm weather to get out more with my camera. If you are looking to capture some family memories (while following Covid rules) please send a message my way! info@k-photo.ca

Stay safe everyone!!

Have you ever wondered if your little fur-baby would enjoy an outdoor family session with K Photo and Design? Well, this kitty did! I was so happy when I saw one of my favourite families walking down the trail to our pre-determined meeting spot with a little crate in hand. I honestly couldn’t believe how well behaved she was walking along tied to a leash. Nothing seemed to startle her. Not a gust of wind. Not people passing by. Or even other pets out for a walk. She was boss. Anyways…let’s get back to this lovely family. I ALWAYS have a good time with these guys. And so glad this pandemic did not put a damper on our fall photos of 2020.

Due to the lockdown, I am not taking any portrait clients at this time. However, when we get the go ahead to start working again – please think of me for any outdoor family (and pets!) that you would like photographed. Stay safe everyone!!

Professionally…not a lot went on this past year. We were nearly entering the Spring season when this pandemic hit hard. Ontario in a full lockdown. Photography was deemed not to be essential. Some planned sessions just didn’t end up happening. And time went on. The kids were schooling from home. We played a lot of games, baked and I learned to cut hair. We ordered music to watch on TV and even attended a drive-in concert. The highlight was renting a cabin in the Kawarthas. It was the perfect time to get away where we would not see anyone! I did manage to hold my annual Fall mini sessions. It was great to see my VIP’s again. Christmas was a little different. But we made it though to 2021!! Here is just a snippet of what my camera saw this past year.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy start to 2021! My camera misses you!

It was a bit of an unusual Christmas, to say the least. Instead of planning events and buying special outfits – we were scheduling zoom meetings and awaiting online deliveries. But I am happy to say – I feel like we have survived 2020. While remaining healthy, and we didn’t get sick of each other having to spend all this additional time together. Now to share a few of my best holiday moments:

Sanitizer and facemasks – that is what our 2020 Christmas was made of.
I was happy to have gone to see the Magic of Lights when we did…now that Ontario is under lockdown again. It was a great outing that you can do in the comfort of your car. And they really outdid themselves this year. (Although the long line-up to get in caused much complaints from the backseat.)
My husband and I are BIG music lovers and enjoy live music whenever we can. This year we had many concerts rescheduled and cancelled that we found ourselves purchasing a lot of online concerts. (Pearl Jam does NOT disappoint!!) We were quite excited about the Barenaked Ladies virtual Christmas program. Fun for the whole family!
Beginning in March the kids were stuck in the house for quite some time. So the crew decided to start playing music together and post these “Guess this song?” on a Facebook page for family and friends to see if they could guess. They started out on just the guitar and drums. But then E picked up the bass over the summer. Added a keyboard…and the video editing skills improved. I LOVED that they were all playing and recording music together. And was always looking forward to what they would come up with. G even started animating some of the songs. (I love our Christmas characters!!) I was even allowed to participate in this bunch of songs…and was given the sleigh bells to play.
One kitty loves to sit under the tree and enjoy the Christmas lights….while the other likes to be up top where she can eat them.
Christmas day gift opening went a little different this year. My brother and sis-in-law via Facebook chat. But most impressive – I got my parents from Manitoba in a video chat!! It was so shocking…I didn’t even take a photo!! But nice to SEE everyone when we could not physically be together.
And no pandemic could cancel my Christmas cocktail!! We just had it all to ourselves this year!! It was a Grinch punch. (Well…modified a bit. Did you know you can’t buy Kool-aid pouches in Canada???)
I have always loved this song. But it just seems so appropriate for the 2020 we’ve been having. Seems like a good time for a NEW YEAR!

Well…I know that a lot of plans did not pan out for this year. But 2021 is just around the corner. I am looking forward to vacations and hanging out with family. Going to concerts and movies. The kids being allowed to go to school. And being able to attend an appointment a little easier. Wishing everyone a happy holiday!! And stay stafe!

As everyone’s lives get busier…makes it difficult to find the time to get together. Which is why it has definitely been a few years since I’ve seen these guys. I can imagine the dinner table is hilarious in this house. The kids started a joke competition to try to see who had the funniest jokes. I heard some new ones that day, for sure!!

At this point in time, I am only photographing outdoors. So if you are looking for a rustic outdoor family session – I’m your photographer!! Stay safe everyone!

I love this family so much! And I’m so happy under the circumstances we were still able to get together this fall. We could not have asked for a better day either! The colours were out; and the temperature was right. [As a side-note, I always struggle with coming up with a title of these blog posts. It’s no secret I am a big supporter of Bath and Body Works…haha! Well, that is where the title of this post was inspired from. My current soap!! And it seemed appropriate.]

As always, still accepting outdoor family/children sessions for 2020. Please contact me if interested. And stay safe!
