These guys always have some interesting stories for me.  Keeps me laughing the whole time!!  I guess that is why I love to hang out and take their Christmas photos every year.  I’m always up for trying something different – we had the kids decorate the tree….and then moved on to decorating their brother.  He was a really good sport.  And we had lots of fun.  Smile

This Christmas seems to have snuck up out of the blue.  I cannot believe it is currently sitting at +16 here in Ottawa.  Definitely no snow this year!! I may wear shorts…just to say I did.  Haha!  But I could not let the season escape without taking note of a few of my favourite things.

window dancers

I don’t know why I love these little solar dancers so much.  I usually have a bunch of them in my window all year round.  But decided to switch them out for a holiday variety.  The reindeer is a fave!!

Hot chocolate

Hot chocolate in a Christmas mug?  Could it get any better??

Jingle the dog

Normally I’m a pretty practical gal…and avoid buying stupid things.  But I could NOT leave this crazy dog.  He spins around so quickly that his head almost rotates all the way around.  He makes me laugh so much!!  Haha!  And he has been named “Jingle”.

crafts

Absolutely love it when the kids bring home Christmas crafts.  My son began a unit in “quilling” at school, and brought these cards home for us.  Well…one of them anyways.  The other he gave away.

Christmas tunes

I cannot get through December without blasting my Christmas music!!  I always love discovering some new tunes.  And this Walk off the Earth Christmas is a fave this year.

goodies

A Christmas mess can have a beautiful outcome!!  Mmmmm…..cookies!!

Wishing you all the very best this Christmas!!

A bit of a personal post today.  But this fall my gal made the decision that she wanted to chop off her hair and donate it to make wigs for cancer patients. I think she was a bit tired of me combing through the knots…haha!  But still, a pretty good deed I thought.  When she came to me with this idea; I told her to sleep on it.  She’d been growing that mop for a while now; and it would definitely take a while for it to grow back.  I needed to make sure she had thought this all through.  But every day she came to me “Mom, did you make the appointment yet?”  (I think it was ME that was having more of a problem with this plan than she was.  She had her mind made up!)  So I made the appointment.  We went to The Hair Bar in Kanata.  They were AMAZING!  My daughter said she felt like a movie star.  Haha!  (She could definitely get used to being pampered.)  So off it went – all 13 inches of it!  And somehow she came out looking about 5 years older!!  I did NOT sign up for that!  Haha!   She did love her new haircut.  And today, loves it the same.  Her ponytail was sent off to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  Super easy to do.  (We just received a letter of thanks yesterday.)  The Canadian Cancer Society will then in turn give these real hair wigs out to women going through cancer treatments that would otherwise not be able to afford something like that.

Being in Ottawa – one of my FAVOURITE events is the Tulip Festival.  I just love to see the seas of colours and different varieties from year to year.  This year I was surprised to find so many pretty two-toned flowers.  And because it was a nice day, I think EVERYONE decided to visit the festival the same time we did.  I have never SEEN it so busy!!  But regardless, we had a good time.  The kids loved looking at the paintings.  Which I feel like that might be new.  I don’t know that I’ve seen them before.  Smile

Everyone always thinks as a photographer, you must take such BEAUTIFUL photos of your kids all the time.  Well, this is my gal’s “portrait face”.

I have been photographing this little munchkin since she was a wee few days old.  And to see her grow into her little spunky personality has been so much fun!  I was so happy to be called upon to catch some lovely fall family photos of this clan.  Aren’t they just the absolute cutest?? I know as Christmas approaches I can expect to receive my call to come and hang out with one of my fave families.  These kids crack me up!!  This time around while being entertained by the many stories J had for me…lil’ sis grabbed her own camera and started capturing some great moments, staring ME!  When she showed me the photos, I was surprised to see that with her little camera program she was able to dress me up in a tutu!  I looked GREAT!  Haha!  Anyways…here are some adorable shots – and glad we were able to convince the dog to hang out for a moment too!  Smile

This family is WAY too adorable!  I’ve been lucky enough to photograph both these kiddies from when they were only a few days old.  (Big sis and lil’ bro)  And it’s always a good time when we get together.  The knitted sweaters were the absolute BEST!!  I just love ‘em!! Open-mouthed smile

I just love these girls! (Well, mom and dad are okay too!  Haha!)  Been a while since I’ve seen this bunch.  Look at how much these gals have grown since our last meeting.  Big sis could be a model, I swear.  She was such a little pro…and LOVED to have her photo taken!  Little sis was a bit shy…but had no problem playing around in the leaves.  Just adorable!  Smile

I have seen these “babies” grow since they were only 5 days old.  So much fun to see them again and again; they definitely keep me on my toes.  SO full of energy!!  I have no idea how mom keeps up with them!  But the giggles….man the GIGGLES!!!  One would start and then the other one would get going.  It was infectious!!
