Pinch those cheeks! – Stittsville baby photographer

So I had literally just completed documenting this baby girl’s first year when I got the news there was another cutie on the way!  This time – a boy! While these two share the same deep, dark brown eyes I love so much, they are VERY different.  She was always so petite, and well he – is not so much.  Haha! But I LOVE it!! He is one strong little dude with a killer smile.  And I look forward to hanging out with him this year. (And all those chubby chubs!!!)  Open-mouthed smile

The best of…2013 – Ottawa photographer

Okay, it’s my Happy New Year post!! Better late than never, right?

So I had a GREAT year! I met lots of new people, and was happy to hang out with some old friends too.  I just love seeing the kids grow and families expand.  I was happy to also have my OWN family photos taken this year.  And over the Christmas holiday, finally have them up on my wall to enjoy.

Pink hats and big smiles – Ottawa family photographer

I absolutely fell in love with this little cutie’s mop of dark hair.  While hidden under her adorable hat most of the time.  She kept whipping it off to show me!  Then that became a fun game.  “Take my hat off and give it to that crazy lady who keeps giggling at me.”  It has been a while since I have seen this wonderful family.  I can’t believe how much she’s grown since her newbie session.  I’m so happy she’s kept those beautiful blue peepers!! Smile  (And Mom and Dad are pretty cute too!!)

Blue – Ottawa baby photographer

Oh man….those baby blues!  Have you ever seen such beautiful blue eyes?

I have to admit, I was slightly nervous with all the warnings as to how MESSY this little guy was.  Mom and Dad planned for 2nd, and 3rd outfits “just in case”.  Even an exact replica of outfit #1 (because it was clearly the favourite.)  But I was pleasantly surprised!  This little guy was so good…although he DID make us work hard for those little grins.  But well worth it in my opinion.  Winking smile

On the move! – Ottawa baby photographer

I first met this little guy strapped into a bucket seat at a friends baptism…and was SO happy to have a chance to hang out with him again.  Although there was no chance of holding this kid down now! He was walkin’, runnin’ and just plain movin’!!  A bit of a serious guy for me at first…but I just KNEW he had some smiles in there.  And did he ever!!  Open-mouthed smile

Long time, no see – Orleans family photographer

The best news is when a previous client calls to tell me they are expecting a new baby.  Not only is that ALWAYS good news…but it gives me an excuse to check in on the little ones and see how they’ve grown.  As you can see, big sister has changed a wee bit.  What was difficult was that I had to wait even LONGER to meet this little lady, as they all managed to get sick right as she came home.  Soooo….Spring quickly became Summer.  And here we are!  At this point she was able to flash me the cutest little smiles.  I just loved her little grins.  Open-mouthed smile

Milestones – Stittsville baby photographer

I was feeling a little sad as this gal’s one year portrait session was nearing.  Because I knew it would be the end of this series we were working on.  Until I found out that she was waiting for her baby brother to arrive!!

While she is getting bigger and learning so many new things as the months have gone on…her little personality has not changed.  She is so smiley smiley…and then serious in the blink of an eye.  Literally!!  Here she is at 4 months and 6 months.  I know I have said it more than once, but I have absolutely fallen in love with those big dark eyes.  Happy birthday sweet little girl!!  Now you’re ready to take on the world!   Smile

Adorable – Orleans baby photographer

One of my favourite parts of my job is meeting new people…well and of course taking their photos!!  This family was so fun and easy going.  You kind of have to be with two energetic little ones running around.  We were concentrating on baby girls first official portrait session, but managed to pull big brother away from his Transformers TV show long enough to snap a few cute ones.  And this gal was so funny…I think she was more interested in being OFF the set than on.  But once we got her interested in her toys she was ready to perform for us.  Just look at those big blue eyes!! Soooo cute!! Open-mouthed smile

This is ONE – Ottawa baby photographer

What a better way to celebrate a FIRST birthday, than with ME??  Well, that’s what this little guy did.  He didn’t even mind getting dressed up for the occasion!  Seriously, one of the most smiley faces I have ever seen.  I just looked at him and he would smile! Open-mouthed smile And then we even allowed him to dive into his birthday cake.  Which is ALWAYS fun!  You never know what they’re going to do.  But this 1 year old LOVED that cake!
