So I had literally just completed documenting this baby girl’s first year when I got the news there was another cutie on the way! This time – a boy! While these two share the same deep, dark brown eyes I love so much, they are VERY different. She was always so petite, and well he – is not so much. Haha! But I LOVE it!! He is one strong little dude with a killer smile. And I look forward to hanging out with him this year. (And all those chubby chubs!!!)

I have come to realize you can never predict how your children will act in any certain situation. I certainly have realized that my kids will surprise me day in and day out. So when this new mom contacted me to photograph her baby girl she was quite concerned when I told her that for some of the poses we would attempt, it’s best if baby was sleeping. She informs me that her child doesn’t sleep. Haha! And I’m sure that’s how ALL new moms feel. Seriously! Anyways, I have learned to just go with the flow. If baby was awake…we just go from there. So I show up and she’s JUST fallen asleep. I set up and get straight to work…not wanting to waste any precious time. WELL! I swear this has only happened ONCE in the 5 years I have been doing this. That sweet little girl slept from the minute I arrived until well after I left. At one point we actually TRIED to wake her up because we thought this was getting ridiculous! Haha! But nope…she did NOT wish to show us her (I’m assuming) beautiful eyes. 
I just love this mama and baby photo! So special to capture that journey into parenthood. 
By the way…I am SUCH a name girl. I love hearing new names parents are giving their children and recycled old ones. The stories behind their choices and all that fun stuff. Anyways, I just fell in love with her name Ella. And it suits her so well! 
I am now booking portrait sessions into the Spring…and hoping for some nice weather to go with it!! But there is still time to do outdoor winter family portraits. When we get a break from this cold snap!! Please contact me for more details.

I absolutely fell in love with this little cutie’s mop of dark hair. While hidden under her adorable hat most of the time. She kept whipping it off to show me! Then that became a fun game. “Take my hat off and give it to that crazy lady who keeps giggling at me.” It has been a while since I have seen this wonderful family. I can’t believe how much she’s grown since her newbie session. I’m so happy she’s kept those beautiful blue peepers!! 
(And Mom and Dad are pretty cute too!!)

Oh man….those baby blues! Have you ever seen such beautiful blue eyes?
I have to admit, I was slightly nervous with all the warnings as to how MESSY this little guy was. Mom and Dad planned for 2nd, and 3rd outfits “just in case”. Even an exact replica of outfit #1 (because it was clearly the favourite.) But I was pleasantly surprised! This little guy was so good…although he DID make us work hard for those little grins. But well worth it in my opinion.

I first met this little guy strapped into a bucket seat at a friends baptism…and was SO happy to have a chance to hang out with him again. Although there was no chance of holding this kid down now! He was walkin’, runnin’ and just plain movin’!! A bit of a serious guy for me at first…but I just KNEW he had some smiles in there. And did he ever!! 
When you have killer lashes like that…you must take notice!! 
Still taking on a few more summer sessions while it looks like summer out there. Don’t wait too long to book your session, as it will be fall before you know it!

The best news is when a previous client calls to tell me they are expecting a new baby. Not only is that ALWAYS good news…but it gives me an excuse to check in on the little ones and see how they’ve grown. As you can see, big sister has changed a wee bit. What was difficult was that I had to wait even LONGER to meet this little lady, as they all managed to get sick right as she came home. Soooo….Spring quickly became Summer. And here we are! At this point she was able to flash me the cutest little smiles. I just loved her little grins. 
Ha! Sorry for the overload of cuteness…I was unable to choose! Now booking into fall. (Eeek! I hate having to say that word!!) And don’t forget, you have until August 31st, 2013 to take advantage of 2010 pricing.

One of my favourite parts of my job is meeting new people…well and of course taking their photos!! This family was so fun and easy going. You kind of have to be with two energetic little ones running around. We were concentrating on baby girls first official portrait session, but managed to pull big brother away from his Transformers TV show long enough to snap a few cute ones. And this gal was so funny…I think she was more interested in being OFF the set than on. But once we got her interested in her toys she was ready to perform for us. Just look at those big blue eyes!! Soooo cute!!
