If any one knows me…when I photograph kids and families, I don’t USUALLY pay attention to where I’m going.  I have gotten a sweater stuck in a burr bush.  My hair pulled by a tree.  I’m sure I’ve stepped in mud or something much worse.  But for this particular family, I was crawling around on my knees in the leaves to get the shot I wanted.  This little boy was SO UPSET that my pants had gotten dirty.  He was horrified that I was walking around with leaves dangling from my pant-legs.  He actually came over, and had to pick all the leaves off for me!!  That’s a good kid to have around.  Someone who values being clean.  I swear I should hire him to take care of me.  Haha!  Thanks buddy!!

The holidays are just around the corner.  For those difficult people to buy for on your list – K Photo gift certificates are available in ANY denomination.  I am currently booking right into the new year.  Can’t wait to hear from you!  info@k-photo.ca

Well…I don’t know what it was that put the sparkle in these kids eyes.  But when I asked; I was told: CHEESEBURGERS.  Haha!  So there you have it.  Forget anything that anyone has told you about various different beauty secrets.  Cheeseburgers are the way to go!  I had so much fun with these two.  They definitely kept me smiling. We even had an unexpected visitor join us just as we were finishing up.  A big ole groundhog!  Perhaps that’s why it’s called Hog’s Back Park?

You still have time to book in a session before the holidays.  Not very much time.  But a little.  This white snow is the PERFECT backdrop for any children or family portrait.  Book soon!! info@k-photo.ca  And of course, keep up with what’s happening by following along on Facebook or Twitter

I have a few families that fight for my first AM slot for my annual Fall mini sessions.  But these guys usually win – as Mom is always thinking ahead.  Usually before Summer is over she is contacting me to get going on organizing the sessions.  Haha!  The kids are always so funny.  Goofy, but well behaved.  I always have such a fun time with them.  Mom asked me if I recognized little bro’s sweater – and I DID.  It was worn by his big brother a few years back for the kids fall portraits. They’re so darn cute!!

Currently booking the last little bit of Fall sessions before the leaves are gone for another year.  If you’re interested, let me know! info@k-photo.ca  And as always, you can keep track of what is going on at K Photo and Design by following along on Facebook or Twitter.

It’s been so drab the last few weeks – I thought a little colour would be nice.  And what a MASSIVE amount of colour we managed to find this past fall.  Trees were at the point of losing their colour…but this one AMAZING yellow tree hung on just for us.  The girls just loved hiding behind the big leaves.  After a heavy rainfall – the ground was so wet, it definitely kept mom and dad busy trying to keep the kids clean!!  I didn’t do so well myself.  I think I had mud and water up to my knees!  Haha!  But worth it in the end.  I just loved their little ladybug coats.  Can you get any cuter than that? 🙂

Annual mini sessions are a GREAT way to keep your family photos current.  If you would like to be put on the mailing list for the fall of 2017, please let me know!  info@k-photo.ca  I’d love to hear from you!  🙂

One of the things I look forward to every Fall is having the chance to meet up with this family.  Aside from baby photos, I think this is the 5th year we’ve been doing this.  (Just last year!)  The kids ALWAYS keep me on my toes…and the chatter is hilarious!  As you can imagine, working with 3 different, very busy children can be a challenge.  But I am just so happy with this family photo – makes it ALL worth it.  Aren’t they adorable?!?! Open-mouthed smile

Apparently a lot can happen in 5 years.  I did not realize it had been THAT long since I last met up with this family.  But so happy we did!!  I mean, how adorable are these gals??  And we managed to capture these nice smiles in the midst of a “fairy attack”.  Haha!  Perhaps it was the crew I had just before them that had woken up all the little bugs, maybe the sun, or the fact that the temperature had warmed up by then…but it was CRAZY!!  They were all little troopers though.  Mom kept telling them they were little fairies.  And it seemed to work!  Because we ended up with these amazingly cute photos!! I know I’m in for a fun time when I book a family session with this family.  A lot has changed since last year.  Or even the year before!  Little girl comes right up to me and introduces herself (as though we’ve never met).  But not to be outdone by her brother, he ALSO had to introduce himself.  So she starts showing me her pretty bracelet she’s wearing.  Boy jumps right in and shows off that HE is wearing a sweater!  Haha!  What little kooks!!  By the end of the session things got a bit goofy.  I know, shocking!  We were trying to keep the kids happy and interested by giving them these beautiful red leaves to hold onto for the photo.  They were both shaking their leaves as happy as can be.  But little boy kept shaking the leaf right in front of his face.  Which was not the BEST idea from a photographer’s perspective.  So I asked him if he could shake his leaf down by his side – and proceeded to demonstrate for him.  So he agrees he will do that and walks right over to me and begins to shake his leaf right beside me – which TECHNICALLY is exactly what I told him to do!!  Haha!  What a kid!!  I honestly have never dealt with a small child who follows direction as well as he did.  Literally.  Smile

It’s incredible how big these kids are getting!! They have changed so much in only a year.  You can start to see their little goofy personalities more and more.  I laughed so hard when they were fighting over what they wanted to sit on.  Of course, they chose the SAME seat.  So the little girl distracts her brother with something, and then takes her spot on the box that she wanted all along.  Haha!  She knows how this sibling thing works. Winking smile

So happy to catch up with these guys again. The kids are getting SO BIG!! Time flies so quickly; it’s not even funny.  So the kids definitely gave us a run for the money.  Because of all the rainy days this fall, this was the first time they had been outside in a few days.  They thought they’d take advantage of this and ran and ran and ran.  Until we finally caught up with them and had them sit for two seconds.  And then they were off again!  I don’t blame them – it was such a beautiful day!!
