Happy New Year everyone!  I’m not doing too bad, posting a New Year’s special on the 4th of January.  😉

So this is brand new for this year.   It’s a small calendar with 12 months and one image.  Great to use it at home, the office or even a gift for the grandparents!  Each calendar is 5×7 in size, mounted for durability and only $20!  However, for my lucky January and February clients, you will receive one on me.  My little welcome to 2011!  🙂

What a great year it has been for K Photo and Design!  So many wonderful clients have kept me busy and entertained over the last 12 months.  I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and wish you all the best in 2011!!

Also, if are not currently following me on facebook, please do!  (I often post my current specials there.)  Invite your friends too!!

Christmas is quickly approaching.  And while I really don’t feel like I’m quite ready yet.  I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a great Christmas, while sharing a few of my favourite holiday things.

Number one on the list: Christmas lights.  I LOVE to fill the house up with tones of coloured little lights.  If I could completely light the entire house with Christmas lights, I would.

Number two: Decorations.  Our tree is divided into sections.  My absolute FAVOURITE ornaments go front and center, right at the top.  Followed by the breakable ones we want to keep away from the kids and cats.  Then the bottom section is filled with wooden, material or plastic ornaments.  And a section that has come about over the last few years: the Santa section.  For some reason they feel ALL Santas must sit on the same branch.  But these two are my absolute favourite.  Totally home-made first Christmas ornaments for both my kiddies.

Number three: The Santa pants candy bowl.  And every year it is filled with Christmas M&M’s.  But seriously…it’s just the cutest bowl ever.

Number four: Fun Christmas activities.  We usually end up doing some sort of baking.  But this year we thought we’d try a Gingerbread house.  I have NO idea how these things are supposed to stay together.  And it didn’t quite turn out like the photo on the box.  But I love it!

Okay, and there’s opening presents and eating turkey and all that fun stuff too.  🙂

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season!!

I met up with fellow photographer Jen Howard of Jen Howard Photography this past weekend for some fun (but chilly) family photos.  Original plan was for both of our families to meet up and take turns capturing some much needed family memories.  Well, we had to go to plan B.  Unfortunately MY fam was malfunctioning at that time and some key members refused to wear pants.  So I brought along my awesome little assistant and away we went.  Her family was ready to go when we got there, so we grabbed a few quick snaps before we all froze to death.  And so I’m left with an IOU.  (Which I will collect SOMETIME, Jen.)  😉

But here’s Jen’s family.  She did well on coordinating their outfits too.  But seriously, aren’t her boys cute??

It’s always a fun time when I get to hang out with my friends and my camera.  Guessing that  it would probably be the last warm weekend we’ll have THIS year,  I figured we must take advantage of it.  And well, here are a few of my favourites of the day.  🙂

What a wild and wacky bunch these folks were.  We had a grandma, moms, dads, kids, a baby, beautiful location and a partridge in a pear tree.  We did so many combinations of groups, that I just could not post them all.

But here’s a little tidbit of what happened few weeks ago.  Most importantly we got everyone in a photo together (it was QUITE the task), before the kids ran off anyways.   I’m also glad we did manage to get a four generational shot.  It’s so important to document a growing family…even if some of them are running around like crazy people!  🙂

Meet Brynn.  (I just love her name!)  This is actually my second time photographing this little munchkin; I was lucky enough to visit her when she was only 5 days old.  Even back then she was a bit of a challenge to photograph.  She’s almost one now and look how big she’s getting!  I laughed at her mom’s warning that she doesn’t really like strangers very much.  I too, had a daughter that felt that way about anyone new.  But as long as I kept my distance (and we didn’t make her lean on her little stool!) she was fine.  I did manage to catch a few cute ones though.  My goodness… just look at that sweet little face!

Happy Mother’s day to all moms!  I had a great time meeting up with fellow photographer Rowena.  In honour of Mother’s day, we took turns taking photos of us with our kiddies.  Her boys were not ones to sit still, so I had to be quick before they ran off to the park with my munchkins.  Here’s a couple I wanted to share.
