A few weeks after her 18th birthday, we had to say goodbye to our first little fur baby.  She was not my cat….I think I was her human.  Hard to imagine, I’ve spent almost half my life with that cranky cat!!  You had to be in her circle of trust though.  (Yes, we recently watched “Meet the Parents”)  Once you were in…you were hers for life.  She was so motherly to us all.  I remember when our son was born, every time he would cry she would come and tell us about it.  Like we couldn’t hear him ourselves!  She just made sure we were aware.  When we were expecting our daughter; Ami would sit on my belly every night.  I think she knew I was pregnant before we did!  And if the kids or I were ever sick?  You could count on her to lay on top of you to offer her healing powers.  She was the BEST napping companion.  There was a time at around 3:00, she would go upstairs to our bedroom and call me for a nap!  I feel she was heartbroken when Lyzzie past away last summer.  Not only did she take care of us, she looked after that cat too.  After we’d go to bed, you would always catch them curled up together on the couch.  So as we start to pack up food/water dishes, cat treats, etc….the house just feels a little bit empty.  It’s weird…every once in a while I still hear that incredibly loud meow.  Like it’s embedded in our walls.

She would always hide under my computer desk waiting for cuddles.   Always a great companion while editing photos.  Ami would either sit on the back of the couch and place her paw on my shoulder.  Or climb into my lap and her paw would go in my shirt.  It’s like she had to have that skin contact.

My daughter painted this amazing portrait of our cat.  I think it looks exactly like her.  I just love it!! And Ami looks impressed too.

As always, please keep up with K Photo and Design on facebook or twitter.  Currently booking for late summer and fall 2017.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to have nothing to do without a care in the world? (Well, except when the food would appear in your bowl.) These two have classic lazy cat syndrome. They go from one resting place to another, eat, and then go back to resting. Their favourite spots include a freshly made bed, an empty box, the closet, the bathmat, or most of the time it’s the living room furniture. In fact they get quite upset when we have visitors and they get demoted to the floor (of all places!).

So these gals are the furry members of our family.  Aren’t they cute??  Have a great weekend everyone!
