Well, 2025 came and went pretty quick. I was so happy to hold my annual fall mini sessions (I think this was the 14th year!) And we had great weather, with no rescheduling. (Every photographer’s dream.) But mostly, this year was full of personal ventures. My hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this summer and took a road trip out to the East Coast to mark the occasion. I can’t believe our little slime green car made it all the way to the Atlantic – and only complained a little. Once we got back home, we turned around and rented a Cottage near Algonquin Park for a little family time. We had a few hikes that we wanted to do in the park. Plus, the kids just love time outside to fish, read, and be away from their computers. Just a few photos my camera took to share with you today.

Wishing you all a VERY happy New Year!! All the best in 2026. Let’s keep in touch!

I’m almost never on top of things as we get into the holiday season. But this year I was feeling pretty good. Until Christmas eve…when I realized I jam-packed too many things into the next few days. Then the holidays were just a blur since. Haha! Just a few of my favourite things to share with you today.

Two of my favourite things: Christmas lights and my morning tea in a Christmas mug I received last year in a Secret Santa exchange.
In our house, you know it’s Christmas tree day when you hear Kenny and Dolly blasting on the stereo. This year, on vinyl. (Funny enough…both sets of parents owned this album.) And then down in the basement, my “wrapping station” had our old boom box for playing some vintage cassettes. The selection was limited to the Home Alone 2 soundtrack, and a mixtape from 1991.
The kitties love Christmas too!! (Especially on Amazon delivery day.)
This is the newest addition to our little Christmas animals. I came home from work one day to see these squirrels on my front lawn. Apparently my mom was covertly working with the kids to get these installed to surprise me. Well it worked! I don’t think we usually have this much snow over the holidays. The poor little guys keep getting buried!!
We have our selection of Christmas movies we try to fit in yearly. But over the last few years we have started watching the holiday sitcom episodes when we don’t have time for a full movie. These shows are just so funny!! Our favourites are definitely Frasier and Modern Family. But we added some different ones this year.
I love to add new ornaments to the tree. These are from our 25th anniversary trip to the East Coast this summer. We spent most of our time in PEI and Nova Scotia.
And it wouldn’t be the holidays without a few treats. The kids did all of my baking this year. (E mostly. G was more of a “consultant”.) And a little boozy Grinch punch to add a little extra fun to our Christmas day.

Wishing everyone a very merry holiday season!! We’ll chat next year.

One of the BEST things about photographing one of my VIP families is that we can laugh about past times we’ve gotten together. Like the time the kids were really little and the older brother decided on a “zombie pose”. Well, lil’ sis just copied EVERYTHING her brother did. I’m not sure that it was the look mom and dad had in mind – but it was pretty funny!! These guys are honestly the sweetest family you will ever meet. I always enjoy our 25 minutes we spend together (almost) every year.

Never too late to schedule your very own family session. On a nice day, I can easily be convinced to take my camera out when there is snow on the ground!

I feel I can package my delay in posting these beautiful family photos from the 2024 season as a throwback Thursday. What do you think? Haha! Anyway, what more to say than these guys are always a joy to get together with. Just look at those smiles!!

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of adorable families this year for my annual fall mini sessions. Feel free to contact me if you would like to sign up.

These kiddos bring such high energy every time I see them. The challenge is not catching those beautiful smiles, but making sure they are in the same frame with the rest of the family. Before you are wondering where I found such lovely fall colours – I must confess, these photos are from 2024. I am just REALLY slow at blogging. Haha!

Thinking about some fall photos featuring your family? Just send me a message!

They always tell you – never work with kids or dogs. Haha! But honestly, that is my favourite subject. (Shhh…don’t tell my kitties.) If there is a chance I can roll around in the dirt to get “the shot” I am as happy as a gal, well…rolling around in the dirt! I have been lucky enough to photograph this family for the last 12 years, and they always bring the fun to any session.

I would be happy to discuss adding your furry family member to a portrait session. Just drop me a line: info@k-photo.ca

I have been photographing this family for many years. They are always the first appointment of my day for many reasons. It started because we were working around nap times, then it was the kids weekend activities. I have to say that was the first time we had gotten together after 11am. Perhaps because the young people were full-on teenagers (or entering those years very soon) they value the sleep in a little more. Just look how cute these guys are!!

No time like the present to catch up on my blogging!! As always, feel free to contact me if you are interested in setting up your own family photo date. Or if you wish to be added to the contact list for the annual K Photo fall mini sessions.

This family had been waiting a really long time for this little guy to arrive. And he is absolutely perfect! I was so excited when mom and dad asked me to capture these moments at home with the new baby. Because honestly, you can’t beat the smell of a sweet baby head. Unfortunately, big brother was feeling a little under the weather. So we had to be a little more creative in our posing. Hoping it didn’t look like he disliked this new member of the family. Haha! Because he was actually very interested in everything going on. I just loved that little fuzz of hair on top. Such a little sweetie! He’s probably walking by now, it has taken me so long to post these photos. But you know…life happens.

Still time to book your summer family photos. Can’t wait to hear from you!

I don’t usually bring a lot of props along with me to a shoot. Usually something to sit on. A small chair. A blanket or two. Well…it just so happened that the sun was setting and the kiddies were feeling a chill in the air. I put the blanket around them as a joke. But I was unable to take it away!! They loved that silly old thing!!

Send me a message if you a looking for family photos of your own. Now booking summer 2024!

What can I say about these guys? They ALWAYS make me laugh. You can tell right away they are a pretty close family. But when asked if the kids get along like this at home? Dad pipes up and says “they’re besties”! Well, that inspired a little giggle. I think the kids were trying to put on a serious face for me!! Haha!

Do I only take photos in the fall? Heck – no! Send me a message and we can set up your family portrait session for this summer. I look forward to hearing from you!
