I absolutely LOVE photographing in my hometown of Brandon, Manitoba.  I mean, I loooooove the Ottawa area…but there is just something different about the prairies.  I love the endless fields and colours you can find.  (If you couldn’t tell!)

So this is my best friend’s sister and her little family.  She called me up a few days before our vacation was ending and asked if I would have time to take some family photos of them.  I’m happy the weather cooperated – because we didn’t have much of a back up plan!  We were taunted by a huge bird (hawk?) the entire time we were out there.  (Angry Bird, perhaps?)  But we survived and managed to capture some real cute photos.  Absolutely LOVE those big blues!!  Open-mouthed smile

I woke up this morning FEELING like fall was in the air.  Which of course made me want to sort through some of my photos from this summer.  I came across these ones from the trip the kids and I made back to Brandon, Manitoba back in July.  I just LOVE them!  Well, not just the kids, but the photos too.  Winking smile  I absolutely LOVE the yellow of the canola fields in the prairies.  Something you don’t see out in the Ottawa area, and kind of miss.

And ALSO, it is so tough to get a natural look from these two.  I swear…they are my hardest subjects!!  The one of the two of them together will be big on my wall – I’ve already decided that.  Which is what I recommend to everyone.  If you’ve got a good shot – order it up big for your wall and enjoy it!!  Open-mouthed smile

And my gal had to SMELL all the flowers of course.

And since it seems as summer is over, it’s time to start thinking about fall portraits (and CHRISTMAS)!  If you are interested in having fall family photos in the bright coloured leaves, it’s best to book early to ensure availability.  Can’t wait to hear from you!!

Anytime I make a trip back to my hometown of Brandon, Manitoba, I always make sure to set aside a little time to do some photos of this family.  This gal and I have been friends since the first day of kindergarten!  (And I’ve known her hubby since we were in high school together – I won’t say how long ago that was…that will TOTALLY date myself!)  But I have been lucky enough to be their designated photographer to capture some of their most special moments.  Starting from their engagement photos and onto 3 pregnancies, 3 new babies, and several family photos later we come to summer of 2011.

I have to say it was one of my more CHALLENGING experiences.  The boys have always been such pros whenever it came to photo time.  So I knew I had NOTHING to worry about.  Winking smile  And then you throw a spunky little 1.5 year old girl into the mix…what the heck was I thinking??  She was seriously a blur for most of the shoot.  And all we could do was was laugh.  What a family!! Rolling on the floor laughing

Waaay back the beginning of July I had the opportunity to take the kiddies back to my hometown of Brandon, Manitoba.  Every visit is always so jam packed with trying to see everyone, and catch up with old friends.  Luckily I usually manage to sneak a few photos sessions in here and there.  This time I managed to get my good friend and her fabulously coordinated family together.

They are in desperate need of something nice for their walls.  I think a family portrait is just the thing for them!  (Especially since the largest photo on their wall is a photo of their CAT!!)  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful cat – and it was me that took the photo.  So I’m really not complaining.  But after having 3 beau-ti-ful children – it’s time to show them off already!  Winking smile
