Nothing is better than getting a call that there is a second baby on the way.  What better excuse could there be to get together again?  It had been four years since I saw this little guy…and he’s not so little anymore!  AND he was also going to be a BIG BROTHER!  Little bro was so sweet….I could have just taken him home.  Monkey-hair and all!  Haha!  My favourite was his furry little ears.  Smile

This little girl was soooo excited for her baby brother to arrive.  And I think the excitement was contagious!  (Check out this adorable baby bump!)  He was such a little sweetheart…and big sis was so helpful.  I just fell in love with his pouty lips and chubby cheeks.  That is how all babies should be made, I think.  Haha! I met with this couple right at the end of their pregnancy.  We were cutting it so close, that I actually contacted her to confirm that the meeting was still on, and she hadn’t had that baby yet.  We had a great meeting.  Made some plans for the session.  And probably talked too much…as I usually do.  But what was funny, was very shortly after I left…the contractions came on.  And that baby boy was born the very next day.  Good thing we planned our meeting when we did!  But oh…what a cutie!!  I just fell in love with this little guy.  You can see for yourself! The amount of homemade items this little guy had was incredible!!  And I just loved being able to use so many in our portrait session.  I loved the colours of the Dr. Suess blankets.  So cute!!  If you wish to reserve your very own newborn session, it is best to plan it out while you are still pregnant.  I look forward to hearing from you!  info@k-photo.ca  Open-mouthed smile

I couldn’t believe these baby girls held a combined weight of 8 pounds and a bit.  They were teeny, but OH so cute!! What was funny is that Mom and Dad knew that one of them would be a bit of a trouble-maker.  What they didn’t know, was that it was going to be the one who is usually so easy going.  Through them for a bit of a loop!  I think she was just too interested in what was going on.  We had a lot of “pirate eyes” going on.  Haha!

I have so many favourites, but managed to narrow it down a bit for you all to see.  They were just so darn sweet!  I could have taken one home in my purse.  I’m sure no one would have noticed, right? Winking smile

So happy to hear of the new addition to this little family.  It had been a while since we last met…about 2 years in fact.  Big sister was quite chatty, and I had so much fun listening to her little stories.  Baby brother was simply adorable.  What more can you ask for?  It was amazing how much the two kids looked so extremely alike as wee babies.  As you can see here. These are a few of my faves I have to share with you. Smile

Spikey dark hair, chubby cheeks and a pudgy little bum – the perfect formula for an adorable new baby girl!  I had such a good time with her, and brother was lightning streak of energy.  He kept us on our toes!! (Well…until naptime.  Ha!)  I had a hard time picking some faves; but here’s a few I’d like to share!  Open-mouthed smile

When you have two brand new little cuties…I feel as though I should be able to take at least ONE of them home with me. Haha! Although, I would never be able to choose which one!  These two little munchkins were set to arrive in the New Year…but they had other plans.  I think they were just too excited to get here for Christmas.  And while they were a little early; they were just perfect. Just check out those sweet little faces!!  (Oh…and toes!!)  Smile

I have come to realize you can never predict how your children will act in any certain situation. I certainly have realized that my kids will surprise me day in and day out.  So when this new mom contacted me to photograph her baby girl she was quite concerned when I told her that for some of the poses we would attempt, it’s best if baby was sleeping. She informs me that her child doesn’t sleep.  Haha! And I’m sure that’s how ALL new moms feel.  Seriously! Anyways, I have learned to just go with the flow.  If baby was awake…we just go from there.  So I show up and she’s JUST fallen asleep.  I set up and get straight to work…not wanting to waste any precious time.  WELL! I swear this has only happened ONCE in the 5 years I have been doing this.  That sweet little girl slept from the minute I arrived until well after I left.  At one point we actually TRIED to wake her up because we thought this was getting ridiculous!  Haha! But nope…she did NOT wish to show us her (I’m assuming) beautiful eyes.  Sleepy smile

By the way…I am SUCH a name girl.  I love hearing new names parents are giving their children and recycled old ones.  The stories behind their choices and all that fun stuff.  Anyways, I just fell in love with her name Ella.  And it suits her so well! Smile

I am now booking portrait sessions into the Spring…and hoping for some nice weather to go with it!! But there is still time to do outdoor winter family portraits.  When we get a break from this cold snap!!  Please contact me for more details.

Okay, it’s my Happy New Year post!! Better late than never, right?

So I had a GREAT year! I met lots of new people, and was happy to hang out with some old friends too.  I just love seeing the kids grow and families expand.  I was happy to also have my OWN family photos taken this year.  And over the Christmas holiday, finally have them up on my wall to enjoy.

And here are some of my faves of 2013! Happy New Year! Open-mouthed smile

I was advised that this little guy was a sleeper.  He had been sleeping for quite a while before I arrived.  I quickly set up and was ready to go before he needed a feeding.  As soon as I positioned him and we were ready to go – BOINK!  He was WIDE awake!  I was so happy to be able to capture those beautiful blue eyes!  He was just so interested in what was going on.  Eventually the excitement got to him and he fell into such a deep sleep – I’m sure we could have done anything with him.  Haha!  And well, BECAUSE he was so cooperative, I had so many favourites…I had a hard time deciding what to share!  So this is what I came up with.  Open-mouthed smile
