Happy Birthday K Photo and Design!

Three years ago today my third baby was born, K Photo and Design. I have had an amazing time meeting new people and creating great friends. It is such a wonderful experience to see some of these babies grow from tiny little peanuts, to talkers, to walkers. This year was the first year I’m starting to see little siblings coming into this world. And I am so honoured to be called on again to capture these first few days. Also a welcomed chance to catch up with these families again.

The most interesting couple – Aylmer maternity photographer

Whenever I think about this couple I am reminded of the Dos Equis beer commercials introducing “The Most Interesting Man in the World”. One of my favourite part of my job is meeting new people and hearing their stories. And these two are by far one of the most interesting couples I’ve met. I’m not sure I’ll tell you their WHOLE entire story, but maybe a few snippets. I guess when you meet the right person, there’s no reason to wait…at least for these guys. They met, got engaged right away, then were married last year, are now in the process of waiting for their honeymoon baby…and, if you can believe it, JUST bought their first house. I have no idea what they’ll plan to do NEXT year!

I can’t wait for this little one to arrive. I don’t have many couples that choose NOT to find out what they’re having beforehand. So this is really fun for me. (Although I will be surprised if it’s a boy….I have SUCH a ‘girl’ feeling. Heehee, only time will tell!!) Anyways, here’s a few to share of these fun guys.

More PINK is on the way! – Ottawa maternity photographer

I was so excited when I was contacted to photograph this little family again. I feel like they have grown before my eyes! One of my first portrait sessions when I started K Photo and Design was this mamas maternity session. Then the newborn session followed, and last summer I managed to photograph this cutie again when she was almost one. And now here I am photographing another belly, and soon to be new baby. It’s quite amazing actually. So here are a few of my favourites.

Expecting another boy! – Hull maternity photographer

This family is going to be expanding by one more little boy in the very near future. Although you’d never think that there was a baby in there. It literally looks like she’s just shoved a little basketball up her shirt. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could ALL look that gorgeous while carrying around an extra 15(ish) pounds? Their hands will definitely be full if he’s anything like his active big brother. He was so talkative, and funny…I definitely got my workout for the day, that’s for sure! Here’s a few snippets from their session.

Glowing mama to be – Ottawa maternity photographer

I don’t think there is a better way to start off the Mother’s day weekend than with this beautiful mama expecting their first baby.

But seriously, I just love photographing people who straight out tell me that it’s going to be difficult for me to photograph them. (However I believe these two were very wrong.) This gal was just glowing in anticipation of their baby girl arriving sometime the end of May. I must admit, I can’t wait to meet her either! (And also find out the name they have chosen.)

They got their first look at their baby at 3D Miracles ultrasound clinic. It’s amazing how you can actually get a little preview of what your baby will look like.

Massage therapy…and more! – Ottawa photographer

A few months back I began working on a small display of photos for massage therapist/doula Anna Belanger’s clinic. It’s a one of a kind establishment dedicated to women in their birthing years. If you haven’t been there, you MUST check it out. She offers pre and post natal massage, labour support, infant massage classes, and yoga. Anna also has many wonderful associates that hold meetings at “the Mother’s den” in the lower level. Some groups have included breastfeeding meetings and birth preparation classes. Although she always has something new going on!

The lovely belly cast you can see in the window is by Ottawa Belly Casts. They do amazing work!

Anyways, as some of you may remember, I had a polled my facebook fans to help me choose the lucky photos to order up for the display. Sometimes I just love ALL my babies so much it makes it so hard for me to choose! So these were the photos that were selected.
