A few weeks after her 18th birthday, we had to say goodbye to our first little fur baby.\u00a0 She was not my cat\u2026.I think I was her human.\u00a0 Hard to imagine, I\u2019ve spent almost half my life with that cranky cat!!\u00a0 You had to be in her circle of trust though.\u00a0 (Yes, we recently watched \u201cMeet the Parents\u201d)\u00a0 Once you were in\u2026you were hers for life.\u00a0 She was so motherly to us all.\u00a0 I remember when our son was born, every time he would cry she would come and tell us about it.\u00a0 Like we couldn\u2019t hear him ourselves! \u00a0She just made sure we were aware.\u00a0 When we were expecting our daughter; Ami would sit on my belly every night.\u00a0 I think she knew I was pregnant before we did!\u00a0 And if the kids or I were ever sick?\u00a0 You could count on her to lay on top of you to offer her healing powers.\u00a0 She was the BEST napping companion.\u00a0 There was a time at around 3:00, she would go upstairs to our bedroom and call me for a nap!\u00a0 I feel she was heartbroken when Lyzzie past away last summer.\u00a0 Not only did she take care of us, she looked after that cat too.\u00a0 After we\u2019d go to bed, you would always catch them curled up together on the couch.\u00a0 So as we start to pack up food\/water dishes, cat treats, etc\u2026.the house just feels a little bit empty.\u00a0 It\u2019s weird\u2026every once in a while I still hear that incredibly loud meow.\u00a0 Like it\u2019s embedded in our walls.<\/p>\n

She would always hide under my computer desk waiting for cuddles. \u00a0 Always a great companion while editing photos. \u00a0Ami would either sit on the back of the couch and place her paw on my shoulder. \u00a0Or climb into my lap and her paw would go in my shirt. \u00a0It’s like she had to have that skin contact.<\/p>\n

My daughter painted this amazing portrait of our cat. \u00a0I think it looks exactly like her. \u00a0I just love it!! And Ami looks impressed too.<\/p>\n
