With Christmas only a few days away, I thought it might be fun to just share a few of my favourite things about the holidays.\u00a0 Or perhaps it\u2019s an excuse to avoid all the cleaning I SHOULD be doing.\u00a0 All I can say, is thank goodness I am finished my shopping!!<\/p>\n

Every year I get so excited for Christmas tree day.\u00a0 Which usually turns out to be an all day decorating event.\u00a0 I think that it\u2019s awesome that we have an Incredible Hulk ornament on our tree.\u00a0 And my little mouse on the roll of 35mm film (a classic).\u00a0 And I love that all the Santa\u2019s MUST go on the same branch.\u00a0 (They do it to mess with me, I know it!)\u00a0 And of course, my favourite are the hand-made ones that come home from school.\u00a0 \"Red\"Ornaments\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But to get into the Christmas spirit \u2013 I MUST have some good Christmas music playing!\u00a0 Every year we start off our Christmas tree decorating by throwing on Kenny & Dolly\u2019s \u201cOnce upon a Christmas\u201d.\u00a0 I listened to it every Christmas as a kid; and was so happy to find it on CD a few years ago.\u00a0 Oh, and we can\u2019t forget about great Christmas movies!\u00a0 We watch the same ones almost every year.\u00a0 But there are some that are definitely more favourites than others.\u00a0 The kids of course love Elf, but my all time FAVOURITE is the Family Stone.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if there could be a more perfect movie.\u00a0 \"Smile\"\"Christmas<\/a><\/p>\n

Perhaps I like the holidays to have the excuse to decorate things that I wouldn\u2019t normally decorate. (Or maybe I just feel like I can get away with it better!) \"Open-mouthed\"toilet<\/a><\/p>\n

I also love my home-made stockings. The cats stockings are my favourites. Heehee. I think the kids almost are more excited about what Santa put in the cats stockings than their own!! \"Stockings\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I love doing Christmas activities with the kids.\u00a0 This year we painted ornaments (so much fun!) and constructed a little Gingerbread masterpiece.\u00a0 They TOTALLY try to mess with me by putting two jellybeans of the same colour beside each other!!\u00a0 \"Winking\"Gingerbread<\/a><\/p>\n

It has to SMELL like Christmas too!\u00a0 I admit, I LOVE Bath and Body Works.\u00a0 I can spend hours in that store picking out the perfect scent.\u00a0 And I settled on Mistletoe Kiss.\u00a0 It\u2019s a very fresh Christmassy smell. \"Holiday<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit it \u2013 I\u2019m NOT much of a baker.\u00a0 I\u2019m in awe of people who whip up these amazing little treats for the holidays.\u00a0 I usually end up having to make two batches because the first one messed up in some way.\u00a0 Or giving up completely!\u00a0 But I DO like to decorate.\u00a0 This year I managed to make THREE different things, without messing any of them up.\u00a0 Yay me!\u00a0 I think the problem is that I\u2019m always up for trying something new, and maybe I should stick to the tried and tested ones.\u00a0 Heehee.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got decorated sugar cookies and reindeer peanut butter cookies.\u00a0 (If you\u2019re counting, I also made a peanut butter marshmallow treat (or dainties as my family always called them) \u2013 but the photo didn\u2019t look very appetizing. \"Winking)\u00a0 I had some great testers too!\"Christmas<\/a><\/p>\n

And any excuse to put up coloured lights all over the house is good for me!\u00a0 I just love the glow of our tree. \"Smile\"\"Christmas<\/a><\/p>\n

Seems like Christmas will be here before you know it – and then over in the blink of an eye.\u00a0 Take the time to enjoy it!\u00a0 I\u00a0would like to wish\u00a0everyone a very Merry Christmas!!\u00a0 I\u2019m excited to see what 2012 brings!!\u00a0 \"Open-mouthed<\/p>\n
