The leaves had browned.  Most of them fallen.  But we got bundled up and captured some beautiful family photos anyways.  And actually, I feel like it worked in our favour.  The warm browns just matched so nicely with their clothing selections.  It’s like it was planned out that way!  And the hats….you just can’t beat how awesome the kids hats were.  Haha!  Here are some of my faves!!  Smile

I can’t believe I am seeing the word January on my calendar.  AND it’s 2016!!  How is that even possible?

I met so many great new families this year…and was able to keep in touch with my fave old ones.  As the kids get bigger, they just get goofier.  (Is that a word?)  All in all, a lot of fun.  I even managed to photograph TWO weddings in 2015.  Which is odd, since I don’t do weddings.  Haha!  I also had two families welcome baby number THREE to the bunch.  Feels pretty darn special to be a part of these growing families.  There’s nothing like that new baby smell.  Or the stories from the older siblings.  I have heard some pretty grand ones this year.  Haha!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2016!!  Filled with fun…and hopefully photos!  Camera  Can’t wait to hear from you!  Smile

It’s been a while since I’ve met up with these guys.  But they ALWAYS bring their smiles!  And this time around, they brought along a new addition.  What a little sweetie!!  Anyone that knows me, knows that when photographing kids you must work very quickly.  Moving this way and that.  And often times, I don’t ever look where I’m going.  Family all set up, moving leaves around…throwing twigs out of the way to get that nice portrait.  Although this is the first time I pulled up a tree seedling.  I was HORRIFIED as to what I had done…and quickly popped it back into the ground.  Even had nightmares about that poor little tree.  Haha!  I may visit in the Spring to see if it survived.  Although Dad was quick to tell me that I KILLED IT!!  Haha!  And that is why I love hanging out with this family.  Always great to joke around with them.  Smile

These girls are growing SO DARN FAST!! Just a few short months ago…a new baby joined the family. And now – she’s all about discovering new things.  Leaves…dirt…her big sister’s hair.  You name it!  Haha!  What a lovely family though; I always have a GREAT time when I get together with this bunch.  And even though the weather was not 100% cooperative, I was glad to capture these moments before the rain decided to hit.  How adorable can you possibly be?? Smile

After scheduling, rescheduling and and then rescheduling again…I was beginning to think I wasn’t going to see these guys this year.  But it all worked out in the end.  And seriously – what a BEAUTIFUL day!  Not even a mouse could ruin this day.  And if you know me, I’m not a big FAN of little critters like that.  I can’t believe how big this little guy has gotten since the last time I saw him.  And big sis, as charming as ever.  Haha!  I just love that gal!! Mom and Dad are alright too.  Haha!  I always seem to have a good time with this bunch.  And just look at the smiles!! Open-mouthed smile

A bit of a personal post today.  But this fall my gal made the decision that she wanted to chop off her hair and donate it to make wigs for cancer patients. I think she was a bit tired of me combing through the knots…haha!  But still, a pretty good deed I thought.  When she came to me with this idea; I told her to sleep on it.  She’d been growing that mop for a while now; and it would definitely take a while for it to grow back.  I needed to make sure she had thought this all through.  But every day she came to me “Mom, did you make the appointment yet?”  (I think it was ME that was having more of a problem with this plan than she was.  She had her mind made up!)  So I made the appointment.  We went to The Hair Bar in Kanata.  They were AMAZING!  My daughter said she felt like a movie star.  Haha!  (She could definitely get used to being pampered.)  So off it went – all 13 inches of it!  And somehow she came out looking about 5 years older!!  I did NOT sign up for that!  Haha!   She did love her new haircut.  And today, loves it the same.  Her ponytail was sent off to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  Super easy to do.  (We just received a letter of thanks yesterday.)  The Canadian Cancer Society will then in turn give these real hair wigs out to women going through cancer treatments that would otherwise not be able to afford something like that.

Unless there is the promise of cake. Then I may reconsider. Haha!  But I was very excited to be asked to share in this couple’s special day.  A very small outdoor ceremony was planned to be held at a friends house.  The plans did NOT include the rain…but they made it work.  All the guests grabbed an umbrella and a dry seat cushion on their way out the door.  And we managed to get these two married…in the midst of all the rain.  It’s good luck though, right?  Winking smile

In our initial planning meeting, these guys told me they didn’t want anything “weird”.  Haha!  I laugh now as I see these dinosaur photos.  The little ring bearer requested that we go see the dinosaurs before we did any more photos.  Negotiations were in place.

Manitoba…always great to make a trip back home.  Even better when you are left with FABULOUS weather (most days). And so happy to have an excuse to go and hang out in one of the local canola fields.  These guys were insanely fun!!  The boys made me laugh so much.  And I was introduced to a new photo pose – the “Beanie Boo eyes”.  Haha!  Those two!! Open-mouthed smile

At one point the boys were hugging mom, holding her hand, or hanging off of her in some way.  It was a HOT, and humid evening.  And I think mom was done with that whole idea.

So I suggested that they spread out a bit…..

I was so excited to hear these guys were going to be adding another member to their family.  They definitely know the proper ingredients for cute babies.  I have adored working with their first baby (well, she’s not a baby anymore! Haha!).  But so much fun to see her little personality coming out.  And those big blue eyes….seriously!!  Smile  Now it’s just a waiting game to find out if she is going to be playing with a new baby brother or sister.  As nobody knew (Which is so fun!!).  Although, my guess was a girl.  You will have to wait to find out if I was right though!
